All right you can all stop the conjecture about why I haven't posted! LOL!

I'm still waiting to pick it up. The last bit, the rubber boot from Ford was supposed to be arriving there this morning, so it's probably all done; however the Mrs has the wagon out doing the Christmas shopping.

As it's my first day of school holidays (I so looooooove being a teacher!) I'm looking after the kids so Lyd can get a good run at the shopping, and have a bit of a break from the kids that can be pretty full on! I'll get it in an hour or so hopefully.

I'll keep you posted!

Unhappy

More dramas.

I will need a little extra help to get this sorted properly. I will be talking with Chris from Bluepower tomorrow morning and get back to you when I know the gist of it. I may need to get the ecu flashed!

Cheers all.

Thumbs up

The manual computer is needed. The thermos are constantly on and the car's idle is at 1,100 rpm. Chris from Bluepower can help, but not until the New Year as he's flat out, and even doing some work in Perth!

Sox has been holding onto a computer for me until I knew what the gist of it all was so that's sorted. A phonecall to Ford spares confirms it's an unplug the old and plug in the new situation.

The mechanic will take the computer with him to Ford (5 mins from his workshop) install it on the spot and get his mate there to get it all sorted. Hopefully Tuesday next week it'll be all systems go.

Also, the gearstick hasn't turned up yet. The gear boot yes, the gearstick no. Go figure. I'm ringing BPT in WA right now to get that shortened one sent express post though. So I'll have a spare.

All I need now is Sox to get online so he can read all this and the PM I've sent him! LOL!

Gotta love it!

GK

P.S Just paid for the short lever, it'll be here on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Why is it that some things in life never go easy.
It is just one of those things with modding I guess.
I was surprised the mechanic didn't know that you would need a different ECU.
Good luck, I am sure it will all be worth it in a few days time.
It will be a great Christmas present for you.

Will be good for a "how to" George

One of those things for sure!

I was also surprised. He will know better next time though I'm sure.

No "how to" for this one I'm afraid! LOL!

I will however, do a "how to" for the short lever install. That I can manage! LOL!

I've got it back. Goes nice too, but I'll need some 3.23 or 3.45 diff gears I reckon. For what I use it for though, highway cruising, it's geared nice. We'll see.

Some of the noises I had (which I suspected were the torque converter) are gone as far as I can tell. I'll keep listening as I get used to the new setup, but so far so good.

There's no real diff clunkiness, but it's tall geared so that may play a part in the smooth feel.

I installed the short lever, a "how to" will shortly follow.

Funny thing though, cruise won't set the speed.

Also, there is a blue led that was flashing in the footwell as I was driving tonight. I wonder if it's always been there. It couldn't have been as I would have noticed it before when driving at night. Any ideas what it is? I had a look and it was switching from red to blue, but the red wasn't noticable in the footwell.

The headers sound like they're ticking a little, so I'm not sure if they're sealing 100%. It's early days though and I'll soon get a feel for what she's doing.

Very glad I did it.

congrats on getting it back. should be a more interesting drive now.

Extractors naturally make that ticking sound. Both pairs of pacemaker extractors I have owned do that.

Okay thanks for that info. It just sounded odd that's all.

Any idea what the led lights were?

GK - is the LED anything to do with the gas system? It could indicate lean or rich running or something?

Glad to see you got it all working - did the extra work to get it going cost you much? You bringing the sedan up to Canberra in Jan?

I've never actually noticed the LEDs before tonight!

The extra programming of the ECU to the BEM and keys and pads etc was all done at Ford today and the cost of that wasn't passed onto me. The mechanic incorporated that into what he got from me. I still need to work out why the cruise control isn't working now though. The "cruise" indication is there, but it won't set. I may to check my brake lights again.

It'll be the wagon travelling to Canberra mate. I'm looking forward to that bourbon with you. BTW, the dates might change and we may be there when you've got some time off. I'll let you know.

Sounds as though there are the usual complications after major surgery. I'm sure it will all be sorted with minimum fuss.

Now all you have to do is let the missus know that the kitchen is off...

The cruise not working I would suggest would have something to do with the clutch switch- has it got one or is it installed incorrectly?

I would say the conversion didn't have one.........

Good job too BTW!

Yup, cruise could be clutch switch, or adjustment.
Glad the ECU sorted you out.

BTW, throw some 3.45 gears in and it will really come alive.

I'll ask about the clutch switch.

The ECU ironed out all the bugs.

I'm already thinking about 3.23 or 3.45 gears! LOL!

The Mrs has taken it to work as she needed to drop of a K-Kringle gift. I reckon she'll love it. LOL!

So are the LEDs actually for the LPG computer? It was only a guess on my part!

Let me know when you know more about when you might travelling up. I'll have a bourbon ready! Shame you can't bring the sedan.

A very good and educated guess it was JC. I had a look under there an hour or so ago, and the red LED indicates rich, the blue indicates lean.

I'll know more about the trip North over the next day or so. Some people we were going to be heading to Albury with may be pulling out, so we may be heading there for New Year's Eve. What's the fireworks situation like on Lake Burley Griffin on New Year's? Does Canberra put on a good show? Are you in a position to put on a good show LOL!

You were coming over this weekend, but alas, Lyd is working a stack of night shifts, so will be sleeping most of each day.

Give me a call though and we'll see what state she's in.

I still need to get the cruise sorted out though. When you're over, we'll compare our pedal boxes and see if I'm missing anything.
