i really don't like it how people lable stereotypes to groups like
18yr olds=hoons old people=lousy drivers ect ect. I am 18 and i automatically get labelled a hoon at school by teachers and parents because i drive a nice car with a sports exhaust, mags that is low. When talking about hoons in english the teachers and sub's glare at me like they are telling me to stop hooning and some parents don't let their kids in a car with me because they think i'm a hoon. When clearly, i don't drive my car hard, never do burnouts, have never gone over the speed limit and never flat stick my car. When they referred to me about hooning and another fellow student who drives a VT v6 with exhaust, big chrome 18's and dumped we get really angry. I said to the teacher one lesson after they asked me if i hoon when implying i do i said 'have you ever seen me drive my car hard or speed or do burnouts?' he said 'no...' i replied 'so your accusing me of being this so called hoon when you haven't seen me ever do any hoonish activities?' he said 'well you have a ford with loud exhaust and big wheels same as your friend next to you with the holden and his friend with a 1995 BMW with 18's' and i said 'so having a nice looking car that gets noticed is a crime? He replied saying 'well you must with cars like that'. Yes, i agree some people have no respect for anyone, but saying P platers being hoons and old people are lousy drivers is really frustrating. I'm sure we have all seen P platers doing skids but i have seen plenty of times middle aged men and woman take a car to its limits in built up areas. I find it ironic that I get labelled for being a hoon because i like crusing in my nice looking car by the same mature aged men have vintage cars and revving the guts out of them at vintage car shows, who isn't a hoon because he isn't a P Plater. |

One of the problems is the shitty sentences the courts hand out these days i could probably stab somebody rape his mother then murder his grand mother and get 10 years in jail sure its not a nice place but its hardly hard time these days i know tougher sentences isnt the answer but it would sure help if somebody was gonna do something stupid. Thinking maybe 5 years for beating up somebody and robbing him isnt worth it instead of probation and a 2 year good behaviour bond.
