Saw a black twin turbo GT-P on the latest Street Ford magazine. QIKGTP. I also saw that car during AFF Dyno day. I wonder how that car is going.

Reading from the magazine though.. I feel the car is way way under-tyred.

judging by the votes the v8 is still in demand .Thank god for that . I thought this may be the case .
when its comes down to there is plenty or power and the foundations are there for something really special that no 4pot , turbo 6 would touch. Also the sound must count for alot otherwise no one would ride ride a harley Davidson.

I've owned both XR8 and XR6T back to back and the XR6T wins hands down in every way. I even like the sound of it more than the boss.

Well if it would make you feel better. I like the XR6T (automatically I also like the F6). V8 Fords?.. I like the Shelby Mustangs... old AND new. Oh and I like the Ford GT.

I believe he was responding to the person who said a turbo 6 was 2 cylinders short of a real engine and simply came up with the clever reply that his XR8 was short of a whole engine.

and who could blame him, it is the single most riduculous and overused retort on this forum sleep:

closely followed by.... "but your four pot turbo can't carry fives blokes in comfort, tow a boat half away across Australia whilst maintaining 100% of it's performance ability"

As for T6 and V8, who cares.... buy what suits and appeals at the time, six months later you might change your mind, I usually do.

Yet you never took the original post with regards to cylinder count to task, rather the person who was creative enough to put them in their place :

Geez I bet you cant stop smiling. :

I have been in a V8 turbo diesel Landcruiser, thats a different kettle of fish as most RV's on site are flogged out anyways, still a nice surprise compared to a V8 GXL cruiser I drove before for a while.

I'd like to have a crack with the Landcruiser LC200, 4.5litre twin turbo diesel, 195kw/650nm, would be a great work hourse/wagon traveller.

If only Diesel was still $1.60....

If you read the latest AMC magazine (#38) there is a good article on FG FPV V8 vs. VE HSV. Basically FPV have actually tuned the V8 suspension to enhance the correct muscle car driving style, which when cornering, requires shifting the weight to the rear and power oversteer by applying the right amount of power to balance the weight up the front.

This actually creates FUN which the other models (with maybe more performance which you really dont need on our 100 kph roads) actually lack, and AMC say that only FPV delivers this level of involvement in a current rear drive car in the price range. Similar to the driver involvement that Porsche 911's and Ferrari's require.

This article certainly inspires me to buy a GT as a muscle car over a HSV or even a F6.

I can't comment on a Turbo 6 so I won't.

After about 16 years of driving around in NA sixes from my last V8. (351 CLEVO), its been a real eye opener on how good modern eights are. (290 BOSS)

Great sound, Supprisingly good fuel economy, awsome power, and real character. It is good to see that Ford finally saw the light and bought them back.

I guess V8 cars are like the Harleys of the bike world. Apparently; not the fastest or the best handling things out there, but tough as nails and as a package unbeatable.

Write off V8s at your own peril Ford.

The 8 for me. I just dont care about the T6. I like the 8, and that will make me happy owning one. I tried getting a T6 but my heart wasn't in it.

Saying that I will unfortunatly only be able to afford an XR8 as I bought a house and I'm paying the blasted thing off on my own. So no GT in my driveway which is dissapointing :(
