i would love to do up an xr-xy falcon but mine would be gloss black Matt black bonnet with a thumping 427 or 428 big block under the bonnet.

i respect the xy gt replicas the the build process that the owners put in to them (especially the one on here.) but i never pay to much attention to the finished project because its just another XY gt replica there no originality.

my mates xy is the goldie green colour of the BA or BF falcon with a white roof and some pin striping one the bonnet and the rear door of the wagon with American drag ways on it an it get more notice than a gt because there to many around.

Same. I like the car for the shape mainly, the smell, and the old feeling. Not because I want everyone to look at me for 3 seconds because I have a car that looks like its worth more than it is.

But they will fit Monaro taillights, nostril bonnets and front bars.

Many replicas have sold for 70k +. The facts are there. Demand for high quality replicas are abundant. And as long as no one is claiming them to be anything else I dont see the problem. 'Most' replicas these days are done to a high standard. Most people wouldnt be able to tell the difference. Its a bit different to a 3k VN with a VY clubsport bodykit on it dont you think? or even an XT with a GT kit. Where is the rest of it, boss 290, ZF, seats, etc.. compare apples with apples.

Not every one is made of money

When ya handing over 70/80k of ya hard earned for an FPV/HSV you are paying for some kind of exclusivity, your buying somthing that sets your car apart from the rest in looks & performence, you will always know you have the real deal & other car enthusiasts will probaly know to, but for alot of others out there the replica will look like the real deal also, so the more people we see with these replica cars the more common the car its self will become, making them become some what stale...

and its like i said that replica dose not have HM header on it like the original phase 3 they were worth 75 hp the old man used to work for hm at the time.

for 95k i would want everything to be exactly the same as if it was a phase 3

Just like VY kits on VN's. They're designed for a completely different generation that happens to be 15 years later. The kit has no relevance to the car and it looks disgusting.

A lot more Holden drivers seem to be putting 00 parts on their 80-90's cars.
That don't match up. I see many VN-VT's (Mainly VS) with VZ HSV paint colours and much more.

Don't see many electric blue/fluro orange/acid green EA-L falcons around.

From what I've seen that's the difference between Ford and Holden drivers. That is Holden drivers seem to have some obsession with making a car with 100 generations of parts on it.

I recently saw a Black BA xt with a xr8 bonnet, lowered and with some nice rims, looked pretty classy and to me looked better than an xr8 (and I am an owner of a BA xr8) . But for the most part bodykits just look wrong you can usually just tell they are lower quality than origonal parts, and often the paint doesnt match or it just doesnt mount up quite right. Also GT stripes on xt's is a bad look imo, though I dont even like the stripes on the actual GT's
