Prosecuting officer, Sergeant Craig Kitto, said it was not acceptable to dish out vigilante style punishment and Murray should have instead taken down the registration number for police to deal with.
Everyone knows this doesnt work. Unless the cops are there to witness the wrong doing, there is nothing they can with just a rego number. I have seen this happen a few times.

I'm not sure how tough the guy was but i'm pretty sure a 4WD would do considerably more damage than a fist. He threatened the lives of multiple people by doing what he did.

I didn't mean bash the absolute s*** out of him, just scare him off.

Easiest way to resolve this issue, leave nails and oil in the carpark prior to burnout session.

They blow tyres and have to get towed home.
Do again the old 4WD block exit, so they cant go home.

But still pretty humerous.. Silly VL drivers.

Or apart from the above, across the road from me a guy has a late 80's early 90's pulsar. They thought it would be kool to slap a turbo on it, the flog the life out of it and rev the cr@p out of it 'hooning' up and down the st.
Last weekend i heard them revving it (nothing unusual) then a bang which i though was a backfire walked outside and it is up in flames, had a quiet chuckle to myself.
Luckily his neighbour had a fire extinguisher to put it out of else it it would have exploded

People are getting tired of inaction (due to not enough police and police powers) and we will see more of this, not just with vehicles, there is youth gang violence and a whole bunch of other issues. Vigilante style justice will be on the increase. People are under an extreme amount of pressure that modern life dishes up, you have to expect a few crack to start to appear. How much can a koala bear? It's easy to sit here with the luxury of hindsight and cool heads and tut tut the events, but this guy had clearly had enough and snapped.

that extreme. he sounds like a bit of a scatter brain.

my aunty has a 07 landcruiser(bull bar and what not she lives in country townsville...lots of roo's so she needs it) but one day dropping the kids to footy a young fella in a corona? decided to pull out on her..she was doing 50km a hour... and she demolished the car...chick in the back got a broken ankle and fella in passenger seat got a broken jaw..and she hit it in the middle pillar..she said she recons she would have killed one of em if she didnt hit the pillar...

all she needed was her bullbar straighted a bit...that was it..other car was ROOTED! looked like a banana

im not saying this is the same thing...but they are dangerous...and this is a good eg of what they are capable of at an average speed.
