First car was a 4 spd, multi point EA in 99. I loved that car, back when I thought 12 slotters were the 'bomb'.
My dad's first car was better however, a '37 Ford Coupe that he found on a farm in 65, bought for $50 and had it on the road with 55 customline mechanicals by the time he was old enough to drive legally.

Well my first car was a 1997 EL Fairmont Ghia, full tickford options as well. Bought off dad at low cost but spate of bad luck saw it only last 2.5 months and 3 weeks of that in the wreckers for repair. Horrible memories of that, may she rest in peace. lol. came out of it with one 150 dollar fine after one near and one complete right-off. :monkes:

I actually bought a Suzuki 800 5 Speed to learn to drive in, but I had a 1977 Datsun 260C. Another big white limo. Beautiful car with a 2.6L 165Hp six (same engine as in the 260Z) with a not too shabby 3spd Auto. on a trip to tennant creek, NT, I found that it was seemingly happier going at 145km/h than at 100km/h. Unfortunately that was given to a family member after I upgraded. When I saw it next, it was swaying in the breeze with the amount of rust it had :( Will find another one day.

'84 Honda Civic hatch.
I'm 6'3" & mates used to bag me for getting such a small car. But it had plenty of room up front, really nippy (63kw but only weighed 825kg) and cheap as chips to run until the timing belt stripped...aagghh. |

1985 Mitsubishi Colt.
As above my mates used to laugh at me folding my 6'4 frame out of it every day. But it was cheap, and at the time that was the important thing! |

My first car was a 1985 N12 Nissan Pulsar Hatchback.
it had 266,000 km on the clock when i got it, and it had 302,000 when the head gasket went. It had a $3000 stereo in it, and a $500 security system , yet the car cost me $400, as is. |

1983 Mazda 626 in a faded lime green / rust colour.
Open the windows by putting your hands on the glass and pulling down. Open doors with random keys, 5 cent pieces ect you get the idea. Big fat cables from the battery to the non existant stereo system. The cables would touch and short, burning the carpet.

1985 XF GL EFI auto. Surprisingly fast, 0-100 in 8.x seconds. Absolutely no rear end grip, was almost a neutral handler under no throttle, and was an oversteering fish tail machine under any throttle.
Perfect car for a P plater - and no, I never crashed it : The gods were smiling on me! |

1976 Ford Escort RS2000 Replica. Love that car only sold it recently, Twin webers. Was a money pit because I thrashed the ***** out it =) So it kept on breaking down. I am still on my P's because of that damn car, lost my license twice because of it :evil3:. My current ride as my login says is a 1985 Ford Fairmont Ghia XF on LPG with non working air-conditioning =(

Grandparents handed me a low K's 84 Meteor which I subsequently Turbo'ed with engine work inc balance and cam. Suspension was lowered Whiteline springs, shocks and swaybars and 15in rims.
Wasn't much of a drag weapon but was great car for back country twistys!!
