Last time I did this, I was called 'sexist'.

I can't win...

Where are the decent women gone?
Yes I do exist and I know a lot of other women who are the same. Why would I be ficticious? The decent women ARE out there...we're just trying to find the right place to meet a decent man

and thanks for all the replies, its nice to see that there are some decent guys out there.

Being nice ALL THE TIME shows weakness. Women dont like weakness.

Ive found if U be ALMOST arrogant with a dash of humor, girls will just love it. Show them U can be in control, that U are confident, that U are a leader and women will tend to follow. The whole chivalry thing is dying, and women are the cause.

Now dont get me wrong. I still treat a lady real good, but its a matter of not being walked over. For instance, U buy a girl a drink and U chat to her over it. Make a few jokes and when its time to get the second round say something like "well I bought the first round how about U buy the second." Say it with a smirk and see how well it works. This way your showing your confident, that U wont be walked over but also showing your not a complete jerk.

Just a little something ive picked up. What do the girls here think? Is it a refreshing change, or is it a put off?
PERSONALY (remember i said PERSONALY) i think you have a good method and your just about spot on with the drinks thing show them your willing to buy but not be used

The vast majority of blokes that advertise in those so called dating things all ask for slim attractive and always ask for younger women.. So why is this. We women do not mind our blokes not having a six pack but most man complain if their women carry an extra kilo or two. Come on most of the nice girls are not model thin and most do not have drop dead looks. The vast majority of Aussie women range in size from 14 to 18 but we dont get a look in when it comes to dating. I am speaking from past experience of being a size 16. Oh and I have also been a size 8 as well so I have walked both sides of the street so to speak and I had more dates when I was aneroxic and guant looking then I did when I actually had more for you guys to hold onto, so to speak.
More cusion for the pushin' anyone? : I prefer a bit of meat on ladies, and I know most other guys do too. Don't be fooled into that whole skinny thing Beaver, my sister did and ended up in Hospital with all sorts of drips and things for the good part of a year.

I agree on the confidence thing, really agree. Not over-confident, you've got to know your limits, but it does help a lot.

I've also been said to have a lot of 'charm'? lol, Supposedly got it from dad who was quite the ladies man, and it apparently rubbed off on me. I've caught a good fish though, and i'm not letting her go back into the sea! almost two years now, and for an 18 year old these days, that's not too bad I think. I've also been told by a fair few female friends that they're there for me if the relationship falls through? I'd hate to think of how they feel about my girlfriend then =/

To the single men. Do put in some effort, and do be confident.. It's always worked the best for me anyway. And personally, though no matter what others say, I really don't think i'm good looking. So it's not all about looks.

And remember... :

My last girlfriend i met in the city when i was scabbin money with one of my mates to try catch a train ride home.

Picture us, two dirty looking punks mohawks braces different colour hair you name it its what we do. Here is Emma on first view a pretty girl. Princess type. Into RnB an rap music. She gave me an my mate 4 bucks each for a 2 dollar train ride and i got her email address. Push turned to shove we hooked up were together for 6 months. Relationships can cross all boundaries if both parties are openminded. Now i dont hate rap i quite enjoy goin nuts listenin to lil jon everynow and again but she hates punk music. i love it i play it i listen to it my best mate plays etc etc. But she saw past that and took me for what i am. a damn nice person and a looker to boot ;)

EDIT: ^ popinfresh i have been told i have that type of charm. ladies love it and my dad loves to claim it came from him

I also enjoy a laugh please dont take me too seriously

That can help i've found. I joke around a lot etc, been smart a lot of the time.. But I think what the ladies like is that I still don't treat them like crap. I'll open doors, offer them lifts, pay for things etc. Or if somethings wrong or if they're offended, I have no problem in talking to them or having a "D&M" and talking about things.

A lot of people think I don't like them at first because of the confidence/joking sort of thing. But as soon as they get to know me a little they realise that I really like heaps of people.

Just gotta be confident etc, yet still be respectfull!

Most chics dont like blokes who cannot spell and use punctuation and grammar properly as it is an INDICATION of below average intelligence.... regardless of what clothes he wears or what club he goes to.... Its an overall package thing!

I’ve been lurking around this site for ages but felt the need to sign up & post what my thoughts are in regards to dating in 2006 for us ladies, considering the majority of the population of this site are males, I’d like to know what you think about the following.

I’ve been on a few dates recently & I must say, I’m pretty disappointed about the effort or lack there of that is displayed by men these days.

I’m a single woman who is in her mid 20’s, I have a good job, a nice car, great friends & family, I have a stable job & I’m honest & upfront, I have no baggage & a great sense of humor but yet I find it harder & harder to meet a guy who wants to put in the effort to get to know me before he starts thinking below the belt.

What has happened to the days when guys asked girls out? When a guy picks a girl up from her house & drops her off without expecting something else? Are these days dead? What has happened to dating?

I think it would be nice for a guy to put some effort in. And when I say effort I mean, nice clean clothes, a shave, aftershave or cologne, deodorant (this should not be an effort but surprisingly to some it is). Is this asking too much? I don’t think so because I’m sure if a girl turned up to a date without any deodorant on the guy would be doing a runner in no time.

I’ve also noticed a rapid decrease in guys having the guts to ask a girl out, who gives a rats if you get rejected, at least you’re giving it a go, 9 times out of 10 I’m sure the girl will be flattered & say yes. If it doesn’t work out, don’t dismiss the girl, she might have a friend who is ideal for you. I have set up many friends, that have turned into long term relationships or marriages but if a guy acts like a jerk or treats me disrespectfully there’s no way I’d want to set him up with someone else.

So single guys out there, please shed some light on what your thoughts are on what I’ve said, because I’m rapidly starting to think that there are no decent single gentlemen out there anymore. And before anyone says I’m after a metrosexual, no that is not what I want, I just want a guy who thinks that its worth a little extra effort to impress a girl.
"DEGENERATION OF SOCIETY"
Plain and simple, it really got going in the late 60's

I don't get the whole dating - need to meet someone thing, I seem to have been born without the need for a partner (cheaper that way)
I suppose spending most sat and sundays alone from the age of three to about ten contributed to it, all this dating, marriage stuff complicates life, rather keep it simple.

back in the very early days of mankind, the men were just given women or they snatched and took off with them, none of this dating required.

Just get out there and experience the world and enjoy yourself, get off the forums and actually be seen here and there and who knows who you will bump into

I met someone who I would marry in a heartbeat if I was interested in doing that and in all places, at a motor sports megastore at Broadbeach (now in carrara)

Just found an ad in some magazine while on the plane to QLD and thought I would check it out since I am into motor racing (help the old man with his)

Who knows who is just around the corner
Seriously though, the world is a sick and twisted place, most of the real gentleman have departed

Been there Done that with a gal who supposedly didn't care about material things. Found out in the end that she wanted everything at ANY cost. We were together 14 years, Married nearly 7. This behaviour didn't show up for a long time, and for a while afterwards, we just stayed together because we had a child together. Now we are seperated. HOOORAY!!!! YIPPEE!!!!

Since then, I have openly dated quite a few lovely women, and found the internet dating scene to be great for this. Iv met plenty of decent women here, and many of them have become friends, which I am more than happy about.
I think pubs and especially clubs are cr@p for meeting people, and with the net, you see who you are looking at, you communicate etc first, and if you meet and dont get along, then you havent lost much at all. Remember, most of the people on there are actually looking for partners etc, so the odds are much better than clubs etc....

The other fella is right tho, girls love confidence, not cockiness or anything, but just the right flavour of that, interest, humour etc etc.

I know for a fact that I am not much in the looks dept. (well to me anyway) 6 foot tall, approx 120kgs, and my ideal 'woman' in looks and size wise is a size 12 to 14, good curves, not too large b**bies lol, and a great smile etc. Dont like em too slim, and personality and common interests count heaps. Hygene etc is a given, so no mention needed. Am happy to open doors, come to the front door to meet her, and pay for things, and massivly respect a woman who is also willing to chip in with the costs.
Currently, my favorite term is "friends with Benefits", and until that verry special someone comes along, that is what I will look for, or 'normal lady friends', cause after all, as males, we all still need our entertainment below the waistline.....I don't particularly like the One Nighters, and really do prefer to get to know the lady, and at least remember her name a week later, and still be dating her afterwards.....

Thats my rant for the day.....

Donny
