What would of happened if the world were run by the so called progressives types we have nowadays say 50 years ago or maybe only 100 years ago or more.

According to the World Health Organization, "Sex refers to the biological and physiological characteristics that define men and women. Gender refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviours, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women." thus there can be multiple gender identities for the same sex...
Or was it the appendage and biology bit?

What do people have to lose by allowing others the right to identify outside socially constructed genders? Think about it. You belong to the larger population who identify with socially constructed norms. Your opinion, values and attitudes are backed up by 90% of the population. But you have never had to consider otherwise, you have never had to think about why people are looking at you, never had think about how many times you are going to be targeted or bashed...

Now imagine belonging to the other 10%, you can choose your identity, ONLY as long as it fits with what people tell you. You are dismissed, made fun of, you are not accepted. Unsupported, misunderstood and nobody wants to know you. Imagine going to the supermarket. Imagine being a fellow AFF member and reading this thread; and even though the point has been made that this minority of people are oppressed, that doesn't matter because male and female fits with the larger portion of the population, and to think outside of this must mean you have MH issues.

Sorry rbm, but I have no sympathy or time for minority concerns. It is up to them to fit in with the majority or suffer. It's that simple. Any allowance of perversion weakens a society, it does not make it stronger...

I don't think people by and large have an issue with how each and every single human being identifies and self actualises. The issue as I see it is that there is yet another agenda being driven by those most able to influence public opinion.

I have many acquaintances that identify as anything but male and female, and all of them just want to be left alone, free to lead their lives as they please. And not one single person above feels that their lot in life will improve with institutionalised "support".
