From a related news article.
Quote:
FOREST activists say they feared for their lives after a violent attack by Tasmanian loggers led to one man wielding a sledge-hammer and others kicking in a protest car.

Police are investigating Tuesday's attack, which was caught on a video that shows a sledgehammer-wielding man assaulting a disabled blockade car, with two protesters caught inside, before others kicked in its windows.

The two protesters, Nishant Datt, 22, and Miranda Gibson, 27, said they tried to escape from the car as quickly as they could after the attack began. "I was pretty sure that if we'd stayed in there, he would have started going at us with the sledgehammer as well," said Mr Datt, formerly of Sydney.

He said he was thrown to the ground and kicked as he scrambled out of the car, and Ms Gibson, from Brisbane, said she cut her hand escaping through a broken rear window.

LOLZ.
I've seen 2 customers like that (separate instances). One weilded a shotgun and one weilded a baseball bat.
One with a baseball bat threated to use it, if we repossed his machine. AHaha.
And the other was due to some money being owed. (intimidation)

I can see both points of view, but I can't comment in some one's favour as I would probably be biased to the Forestry Contractors.
Depends on who's property they were on.
And who was / wasn't supposed to be there.

In these situations, you know the contractors aren't going to move away.
Logical deduction.
If the protestors feel they want a fight, by staying where they did, they increased the chances of it happening.
So it was a forgone conclusion that the contractors were going to retaliate.

If there was to a be a peaceful protest, they could have moved away to a safer spot.

That's the way I look at it. (Risk assessment)

Hand made Lambo:

Quote:
Ken went into the project fully aware of the problem of a getting the car out of his basement — it was your classic ship-in-a-bottle project problem. When the faux Lambo was complete, he actually hired a contractor to knock out a part of the basement wall, build an earthen ramp, and then drag the car out of its subterranean workshop.

I'm sure everyone remembers the "Where the bloody hell are you?" campaign. Chasers war on everything decided to come up with some much more suitable alternatives for the slogan:

By the sounds of it it has either a stuffed engine or no engine at all.

Been advised that this is the best place to post the link. We got a fax about this at work yesterday and it seems Peinsula Holden are auctioning off most of the setup of a workshop. Plently off good gear here that may be of interest to some AFF members.
