Yahoo snooping

Another method of spying rears it's ugly head...

Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing and where you are going..similar to cookies'' You can choose to opt out of this. Take a look at their updated privacy statement:
http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/ Scroll down to the section entitled "Cookies" and click the "Web Beacons" hyperlink. A second page comes up. About half-way down the second page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you "opt-
out" of their new method of snooping. I strongly recommend that you do this.

Once you have clicked that link, you are opt out.
Notice the "Success" message at the top of next page. Be careful because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-Out" button that, if clicked, will undo the opt-out.

Feel free to forward this to other people. Of course, if you don't mind Yahoo recording every website and every Group you visit you should ignore this message.

There is no such thing as true privacy on the net anymore (nor was there ever really, but these issues are only becoming worse), only a matter of how many things you ensure don't end up tracking you by some method. :(

Me personally I'm more annoyed by the flood of german spam I'm now getting as a result of someone who has my email address getting their computer infected with a virus... :(
