Default "Accident"

I got home from work this afternoon to a note on my gf's car saying we had backed into their car this morning and theyve taken our rego details. Now for a start, I was in the car when my gf was driving and she didnt hit a bloody thing. Secondly, if she hit the car shed be more inclined not to park right next to it. Thirdly, it could have been anyone over the 13 hour period, who decided to park near it, hit it, and rove off. And finally, there isnt a mark on my gfs car so im not sure what to make of it.

Before i ring them, I just want to know what some people think as to how they think they can just blame us with no proof what so ever and what can happen when we say it wasnt us. So annoying.

None what so ever, and since she was doing about 2km in the car park, i doubt her little Astra would have even left one if it did hit. Which it didnt..

the first thing that I would do is go to the cop shop and let them know what is going on followed very quickly with a call to your insurance company.

Atleast this way you have taken an active role in the denial of the incident.

ok, i'd get some pics of your perfectly straight undented car and ask for pics of the damage to their car........ if the door or whatever on their car is caved, it'll be plainly obvious your car didnt do it....

Burn her house down anyway for making you go through that!
kidding.

Sounds like she saw a young girl, in a new car and tried to get a free repair. I bet she wasn't expecting a clued-up, annoyed male on the other end of the phone. She'll probably try it on someone else tommorow.

Why am I so cynical? Whilst still at High School I had a 100kg Russian bloke try it on me once, except he was determined to get money out of me, I saw there were sercuirty cameras in the carpark, went to mall sercurity and got video of my entering, parking and leaving the carpark - all with timecode. The best part was the pre-exhisting damage on the other car was visible! Dropped off a copy of the video to the big slab of muscle, and to the cop who gave me a call saying that this guy has lodged a complaint. Needless to say that was the end of that.
My father also had a very similar experience and outcome himself over Christmas.

People. :togo:
