Default Adaptive Shift + Shift Kit?

Hey guys.

My car needs a shift kit. It keeps going to redline and after 4,500rpm its a waste of time. I have an adaptive shift auto and im just wondering if you can and is it safe to shift kit them with all the other stuff it has built into it like, performance mode, econ mode and adaptive shift mode. Anyone else have one in theres and is it alright?

Cheers

Sure can mate, dont stress. I made mine and it has the fully adjustable Pot and an off switch and all is fine. Its been in there for over a year now with a 3000 stall and all is good.

You realize that a shift kit just changed shift firmness.. not at what rpm it changes? To me it sounds like you want to get the auto to change earlier.. a shift kit wont do that.

Will a shift kit help me to go from "P" to "D" quicker than a standard shifter? Also, will it stop me from accidently stopping at "N"?

Nope. A shiftkit (either electronic, edit, or valve based) simply controls line pressure which, in turn, controls how harsh/firm the shifts are.

Are you serious? When you get up around 4500 rpm, just ease your foot off the throttle and it will change up. Or stop going WOT all the time, and enjoy actually driving the car. If it really bothers you that it's not breathing after 4500, then a set of extractors and free flowing exhaust will help out there (big time).

agree with JC on this one, first step is the exhaust, it's just not getting out of there quick enough! bucknaked, maybe instead of putting it in "D" you put it in "R" for "Race" your car would go better:P
