Hi all,
my Ford stacker (AU II Fairmont) red 'load' light wont turn off and the stereo wont turn on. The screen doesn't come on so it doesn't prompt me to enter the pin number. Does anyone know what the heck is going on? Please Help Cheers FORDavid |

Yep, had the same problem. Try disconnecting the power overnight and then reconnect it in the morning. This worked for me and for one of the guys in the T-Series Appreciation forums.

it seems to be a common problem with the factory in-dash stackers. your best off upgrading your system. there are plenty of options for double DIN or single Din out there. if you go with a single DIN option, you will need to consider getting the change pocket from a low series model though to fill the hole under the head unit. of course, if funds are tight (like mine) perhaps as suggested try disconecting power to the unit over night to reset it. you may just have to do that from time to time though. good luck

Thanks for all the advice everyone,
as for the suggestion to try disconecting power to the unit over night - how would i go about doing that? Does that mean disconnecting the battery from the car or just the unit itself, because i wouldn't know how to do the unit. Cheers FORDavid |

I had the same issue in my stacker, pulled the fuse and the unit reset itself and happily plays all my favourite tunes. Has performed well for many years since only rejecting a couple of my itunes burned CDs.
cheers Bill.

Don't forget you will need the pin to unlock it when you power up again. I had same prob couple of months ago, worked for me but had to go to ford with rego papers to get the pin.
cheers, Simon |

Remove the fuse marked Radio 1 and leave the car turned off overnight
Reinstall the fuse in the morning. You will need the security code. |

Thanks every one for the advice, I looked up the fuse 'map' in my manual, pulled the fuse out and replaced it immediately, entered the code and it's working fine, didn't even have to re set the radio stations.
So damn happy I didn't have to spend $$$$ buying a new unit. Thanks again !! |
