Well after searching ,high and low for a car for 2 weeks straight,we come to an agreement that the wife would be happy to continue driving a ford(talked her out of the subaru idea),so I found and AUII ghia,I6 VCT with 60ks june 08 rego,premium sound 6 stack CD,full black leather power seat,tow bar for $10k at Auction.
Its got a couple of things to be sorted,but for the money its is very good value,and generally like new. The premium stereo has got CDs stuck in it and I will have to remove it to take the cover off and retreive them,(it looks like Ive got 4 free cds with it.) The g/box shifts slowly ,and It has a leak,but I will service that on tuesday,with new gaskets/filter and rear main seal. It has a noisey (slight tick) lifter which ,I will pull the rocker cover and have a look The centre section of the base of the rear seat has a cut in it the will require replacment of that small section, Other than that ,a bit of touch up on the rear bumper,under the bonnet looks brand new,I checked the books and its due for the 60k service and the thing drives like brand new. So now it needs some AUII tickford 17" wheels and series 2 tickford kit on it and I will be happy with it for the wife to drive. Got some initial photos here;
