yep, i got no idea yet again.
my Dad lives in the U.S (i obviously dont) and he has already sent us a Christmas package. with work and the likes, i havent really had the time to do anything about presents till today and now i dont know what to get someone that lives in a counrty that has EVERYTHING. theres a slim chance that whatever i send could get there in time, although it isnt likely. i could just purchase from the U.S and have it sent directly to him even, which would have a better chance of getting there in time. so, i need some ideas on what to buy him. probably looking at <$150US |

yep spot on, only things you cant get here that are aussie and good are some aussie movies, and they hardly work on any DVD players here. (except the ones sold here of course), i would order something online, but do it soon if it's something in high demand for Christmas. You will save a bit on postage too.

YOu can buy Vegimite and Tim Tams in most major cities here now...its BLISS. If you have a family sorry dont know you that well, maybe get him a professional pic of you and the family, something more of a keepsake than anything. Something personal, I am unsure but maybe if you can send a case of Australian Beer, as although you can find it here, its usually a LOT different to home. If he is into pottering around the house and or working around the house on weekends, a Home Depot gift card may be your best friend as it stocks just about everything and anything and allows him to pick his own gift that he needs.
If not and he is a PROUD Australian and doesnt have one...get him what I am getting for Christmas...A HUGE Australian flag to fly out the front of his house and or place on a wall in the home....

 Quarantine may be a issue though. Magazine subscription isnt a bad idea. Australian Street Rodding and CRUZIN come to mind. That way he can see what the scene is like over here.

Flag, not a bad idea MYVYSS, I am interested in getting one too, so just did some research online. I remember a good flag store in Oxnard, California i went to a few yrs ago, i couldnt find them online maybe not there anymore, but I found these links http://www.flagsales.com/foreign.htm

ok, its been decided.
a flag it is. we are looking at around the 2800mm x 1400mm, fully sewn, outdoor quality type. i doubt it will be flown outside (its L.A) but incase he wishes to, it will be durable enough to do so. price for this size is between $170-$225AU. Thanks for the great idea MYVYSS. |
