Hey guys. Was just wondering, on AU1 would a wider intake snorkel make much difference power/response wise? I've seen people post about fitting XR6T snorkels on the AU, but I'm looking at the AU XR8 intake snorkel on ebay atm for pretty cheap... would it be much different?

Search is your friend. There are at least 2 dozen threads covering this.
That's not a bad price, but it's also not an AU snorkel. The snorkels used on the T series and series 3 XRs had the Tickford emblem moulded on them - that one on ebay is a BA one - so essentially the same, minus the emblem. $35 is not too bad, but you can probably get it at your local ford dealer for that too, and save on the postage.

if i remember correctly that one on ebay has $20 postage too!!
so thats 55... go to your local ford dealer and ask for the XR6T item.. its what is pictured and is what JC is saying about.. for the money its a good choice compared to the $200+ other options

I Bought the XR6T Snorkle for $43 from Ford $60 Fram air filter from Supercheap & made my own 3" pipe from the airbox to the flexpipe Plus cut out the Restriction in the flange of the Airbox and put a 3" flared speakerbox port tube on the inside of the box
to make it flow without the noise well worth doing for a total cost of about $150 |

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm going down to pick up the XR6T snorkel from Ford this arvo for $43. ;-)
PS. Whats wrong with having multiple threads with the same question, it only chews up a little more hdd space in the mysql db. ;-) Just kidding... yeah I'm learning to use search, honestly. :togo: Thanks. |
