just finished work this afternoon and was on the way home when i heard truckies on the uhf radio talking about a car crash at a local service station.
being a sticky beak i thought i would have a look and see what had happened. drove past and there was a few cars parked out the front and people wandering about, but more interesting was the blue nissan pulsar that was embedded around the awning post and the flames that were coming out of the shop itself. : the car had turned off the highway and somehow had lost control and drove straight into the bowser and awning post : and sent the bowser flying into the front of the shop catching the building on fire. luckily the fuel tanks didnt light up, but it did burn the shop building to the ground and the exchange gas bottles had started to pop by the time the fire trucks got there. as far as i know the only one hurt was the lady passenger in the car got a broken leg. we had the bruce highway blocked for about 3 hours .

sorry but didnt get the chance to get pics .
it was at Miriam Vale QLD, south of Gladstone. the United servo on the south side of town. a popular truck stop. used to be BP until last year. being one of the first to stop and help , when things started to pop and blow, i went back down the road a bit and stoped the traffic incase the whole place went bang. when the cops got there they moved us back even further. did git a bit of a close up though when my mate from work (ergon) got there and we went and disconnected the power for the fireys . but i wasnt hanging around there any longer then we had to.
