Default Charging troubles

Hi I have a TE corty 250. My problem is that it doesnt charged have traced it to being the excitor. What I need to know is there any fuses or relays that would stop power for getting to the alt. Has any one had this same thing to happen. Also the light in dash for alt hasnt been working for a long time does this have anything to do with it.
