Hey guys,
i'm new here and my girlfriend owns a 1976 Ford Escort Ghia with 47998k's on it (pics at the bottom). the car original come from Trangie and and then was brought by her uncle and then given to her. The vinal roof has been taken off and sprayed the same colour as the car. its got all the log book with the service history as well. If she went to sell it how munch would she get for it, becuae she can't drive a manual. |

Hey,
What engine is in that? I'd be very careful you don't undersell yourself - that looks extremely neat and tidy. Mine's a 79 and two door and I wasn't even selling my car and I was followed through Brisbane by a truck... after a while i pulled up to see what his problem was. The driver jumped out, looked up and down my car and offered me $6,000 for it on the spot...I told him straight that it wasn't for sale. He's since called me twice, each time offering more money. I couldn't believe it - it makes me look at my esky in a compeltely new light. He was mainly interested becuase of a straight body. If it's rust free - you've got something rare - if everything is original and rust free - write your own cheque! *******Something is worth as much as some one somewhere is willing to pay for it at that particular...**** You dig ? 4descort

that interior is definately something.. mine is brown, has rips and wear spots ciggarette burns etc :'(
and i cant see in the pics but if there is rust around the back of the rear wheel arches then thats expected, mine had a horrible case, but if there is little or none that could also boost your sale price. the car is pretty much a late classic, like its been sed already make sure u dont undersell urself. i bought my escort, even tho it had no rw, an oil leak, and no rego and the interior i stated, for $680 yet a holden/isuzu gemini i owned a while ago, same car basically, only it had a 5spd box instead of 4 and extractors, and very little rust, for $200... see my point? good luck if u do end up selling it! |

also in that point, the escort is worth more for a straight body..both of those cars i stated had straight panels all round.

One thing that will affect the price is how long you can take selling it - I think you'd get $2-3k pretty easily, finding someone to pay $5k might take a bit longer. Advertise widely, contact all the clubs etc
