Default What Sports Do We All Play or Do

Just wondering what sort of sports we all play or do.

I have just started racing BMX again after a three year break. Been very interesting so far, haven't riden since i started with CountryEnergy, decided to start again at the end of last year. Have been riding to work and going down to our old club track for training, went to my first race meeting this weekend. Had to race Pro-Open Men due to there being no men in my age class, and i surprised my self in that i could keep up with them for half the track and wasn't too far behind in the last too straights.

Anywaym enough of my lack of fitness, lets see what everyone else does.

When I was younger I played basketball for 8 years, along the way also did cricket, footy, a few cycling events and tennis. I stopped all that to concentrate on middle distance running and won 8 state and 2 national titles, before having a 6 week break at 16yrs old and couldnt be stuffed going back.

I still go for the odd run and end up with sore calves but i keep fit enough at work now, otherwise I play sports like darts and pool down the pub lol

I used to teach Tae Kwon Do. But now I just play pool or darts. Turns out I am allergic to exercise!

Basketball for the last 25ish years, been playing with a core bunch of mates for the last 15 years, play twice or 3 times a week, sometimes more if the other teams need players

Just restarted playing Cricket, considering playing Touch football again, and then eventually going back to play veterans level AFL.... which i havnt done since the mid 80's... That IS going to hurt me...

Most played sport at the moment though is backyard soccer with my 3y.o Its hard work running around chasing him... sometimes i wonder where he gets his energy from.

play soccer, well tend to hobble round for 90 minutes, trying to keep up with kids 12 years younger. I have recently learnt, the older you get, the slower you get, and the more you get away with cheating!! that and the beers taste better and better........

I Did CFA *Country Fire Authority* Running (connecting hoses whilst running and stuff) at a state level in juniors and next year seniors last year but im not doing it this year because i have school and if i kept doing it, CFA 3 nights a week and both saturday and sunday, whilst working 2 jobs (dont work two jobs in Year 12 if you dont need to) and cant quit either of them for experience-sake until my 6 month period is up, its abit hard to 'unwind'.

I did karate for about a year, but stopped due to several factors. Made my appointment to get my orange belt, but I forgot about it and never returned.

However, I've played tennis competitively since 2001...started when I was almost 18. Played 2 junior seasons, had 1.5 years off due to there not being a team for me, then started seniors for the 03-04 summer season.

I would love to play footy as I love the game...read all about history...I wrote the bulk of the Geelong Football Club history on Wikipedia (it's been edited, but before I wrote it, there was nothing!). But when you're built like a twig (like me), you'll only get snapped.

I also enjoy drinking good beer. Enjoying a Caledonian Deuchars IPA atm. Smells like chamomile tea...interesting. Don't think I'll get it again, but it's different.

Cheers

When I was younger I used to do all the usual sports eg cricket, football, tennis, basketball. I also took up tae kwon do for couple of years, booked in to get my blue belt, and the club I went to stopped taking class were i went :

Now I play squash, just started playing pennant this year. Great workout, after a hours game, your legs are completly stuffed, shows you how unfit I am

Started swinging a golf stick at age 7, and haven't looked back.
Got the handicap down into the mid-teens, then gave it up for a while. I now live opposite the course, so I'm out there every chance I get.

Cricket, another sport I gave up.... Will be back into that within the year.

Cheers

Cricket, pool and table tennis. Played in the grand final last night in table tennis, and I came down with a cold! Pretty unlucky, we probably would've won if I was healthy.
I played footy last year but this year I'm going to focus on cricket, and train through the off season

Probably aren't many sports I haven't played at one stage or another. When I was younger it was mainly Swimming, Althletics, Basketball, Tennis, and Golf.

Now I run and swim 2-3 times a week, indoor soccer, indoor cricket, and want to play outdoor cricket next summer. Would love to have time for more and I'm really keen to get a sea kayak.
