I noticed my left headlight had condensation, further examination i found that my head light was quater full with water.. The car has only done 35,000 Kilo`s......Just wondering how does the water get into a sealed beam headlight? And how do you remove it? It seems the nose has to be removed, Hope there`s a easier way..

As far as removing the nosecone, it's not very hard. It's just six bolts, but you will need the hands of a midget in some places.

Hey mate have you got the rubber caps on the back of the light? I took mine off and thought it would make it easier to replace a globe if need be and it seems that without them water seems to run into the light. put em back on and no leaks. Without them mine too filled a third full of water after days of consistant heavy rain, To empty them I pulled the globe out and inserted some plastic tube (u can use vacuum hose) into the bottom of the light and sucked it up in lots until it was empty, took a couple a minutes each light and no need to dismantle anything.

Thanks Howesy
As soon as i read your message, i didn`t remember seeing a rubber seal at the back of the left headlight. So i had a quick look and its missing, but the right headlight seal is still fitted.. THANKS for your advice Howesy.. Can you still buy them at the Ford Dealership?? |
