just got brand new paceys and was wanting to know if its ok to paint over the top of the factory paint with heat proof before fitting them.reason being there is alot of scratches on them. thanks rob

Not heat proof but flame proof, the heat proof stuff from autobarn and supercrap will burn off in no time.

be careful doing that, even the flameproof still burns off extractors and it will wreck the original coating if it does, also i do believe it may void warranty, being that the blue coating is a special pacemaker ceramic paint ment to protect the extractors.

Get em ceramic coated. It costs a bit but results say it all.

no arguments here, but it costs what about $250 to get a set of 6 cyls done?

i painted mine, and they look the same as the day i painted em, you gotta put a few coats on. heat proof paint by K&H

JoesAU - What colour did you paint yours?
From what i have found a lot of the problem with painting them seems to be what colour you paint them, as to how well it lasts, but i can't remember whats better and not.

its called magnesium alloy, looks similar to that pic up there, has little flakes in it to, i put a few coats on with a heat gun, they look good still after 6months so its not to bad.
