Angry Mongrels!

Just got a call from the Mrs who's out doing some shopping. She leaves Coles to head back to the car and finds that some mongrel has snapped the Aussie flag clean off the car! On Australia Day too. Unbelievable!

It's the type that attaches to the window, so I suspect the force on the little plastic clip as they snapped it may have scratched the window tint as well.

tint should be okay - as it is normally applied to the inside of the window.

But that is very un australian for them to touch the flag and mess with someone elses car...

At least you got back home safely!

The clip is u-shaped and goes on both sides of the glass. It's okay though, just a little scrape, not noticable from the outside.

Still annoying though.

Yep we got back okay. It was great to meet you and put a face to a name, or rather Forum name! LOL!

Speaking of car park incidents on Australia day..

I went shopping to buy some things for our BBQ.

Anyway got home, went inside and back out to my car and i see this MASSIVE dint infront of the fuel cap. I almost had a heart attack! It was about 5 inchs round.

Seems like someone kneed it or punched it because there are no scratch marks or anything. My town is a small town and everyone knows not to mess with each other, so we have no idea who would of done it.. Maybe a trolley full of groceries.

The thing that makes me most angry is that they didnt leave a note or anything..
We pushed most of the dint out but there is still a slight ripple on the panel.. :(

this happened to my mate yesterday, parked on the street, some lowlife nicked a fairly large aussie flag which was attached to a cut off wooden rake pole and literally wired with fencing wire onto the ute tray.. they must have come with wire cutters to get the damn thing off!!

That sucks mate.

I went to buy one myself, but could only find ones made in china, pretty sad state of affairs when you cant buy an Australian flag that is actually made in this country.

you haven't said much about the condition of the flag. Was it showing wear and tear? I ask as I downloaded this from the national flag act:

Disposal of the Flag

When a flag becomes dilapidated and is no longer in a suitable condition for use, it should be destroyed in a dignified way by burning in secret.

perhaps someone was saving you the heartache, and going to destroy the flag in a dignified way, for you.

That is very un-australian, and sucks a great deal.

In truth, those flags annoy the crap out of me, though not enough to do damage to someone elses personal property...

Yeah thats it, we have 2 fords, so my first statement was unfounded sorry, we take the small festiva shopping trolly, leave the Au at home, i wont park in car parks and shopping centres, if i really have too i will park as far away as possible from any other cars, and never next to a 4WD cause their doors are much higher and mark the car easily, i normally park next to a pillar if possible so only one car can park next to mine, or choose the nicest car and park next to them lol.

I know its hard tho, doesn't matter what car you have ppl do not have respect for other peoples property or their own it seams.

Once i was waiting in the au for the wifrey to be finish work, a lady came out of the elevator with a big plastic containers with lid, one you put junk in you know, she looked arround and then walked to her car, she dint see me sitting in my car and just dumped the container (full) on my boot, i was like wtf is this, i got out and she freeked, i asked her why she did it and she said she had to open her door to her car, i asked wtf didn't you put it on the gorud or on to your own boot. she couldn't even come up with anything and just said i wasn't thinking, so there ya go just idiots. It did no damage it was just a stupid thing to do i recon.

Any way hope your car isnt too marked.

It's times like this, I wonder, "What would MacGyver do?", and "I wish Chuck Norris was Australian."
