I dont believe they crash test Ferrari's really.
I doubt a Ferrari could manage a four let alone a three star EuroCAP test |

If you hit something solid going really fast and stop really quickly - doesn't matter what you are driving - you're likely to die. A test with a Smart car into a barrier at 70MPH - the front end didn't intrude too much into the passenger space, but the forces of the crash would have killed occupants anyway - too much for the human body.

Dont forget that car is made mainly of carbon fibre. Hence the splitting like that. Metal tends to bend and twist whereas carbon fibre shatters in pieces. Thats the trouble with cars like that. You crash it you have a major problem in terms of fixing it.

I think the high end dealerships are more inclined to sell a car to you if you've already owned one of their cars before. Especially the limited run models.
But then again money talks. Saying that tho, i heard've a guy who wanted to buy say half a dozen of the 911 GT3's due out this year or next. The dealer said no way.

police identified skid marks at the scene “consistent with excessive speeding.”
didn't think you'd need to look at the skid marks to determine that... |

Epic fail, but in all honest it can happen in any car just in a car like that it tends to has a tad quicker thus being the end result.

Those pics are proof that carbon fibre doesn't bend. Could have been a lot more survivable in a metal bodied car IMHO. But as others have said, at the probable speeds involved no car can keep you alive.

Are Aston Martin's, Ferrari's and Lambo's crash tested? Or to phrase it better, are there cars Euro NCAP tested? I've always asumed that because of the low volume of production for these exotics, they arn't required to be NCAP tested. I've just quickly googled a few phrases and couldn't find any pictures or videos of a Ferrari or AM hitting a pole or solid object in a controlled test environment.. http://www.euroncap.com dosn't have any super-exotic brand to choose from either. |
