Default AU XR8 stuttering at wide open throttle

hey all.

I picked up an au3 xr8 couple of weeks ago. Sadly the other day whilst coasting 140km/h i came round a RH bend with little bit of a dip in it, the v8 suddenly died in the ***. kinda like it starved for fuel. its still been like it since then, it happens when ya punch the throttle, or while cruising if ya hit a decent dip in the road it stutters again.

Looking for any suggestions cause i would really like to have my power back.

Check your plug leads. This could be the first check.

You may also have a pickup issue in the fuel pump. Is it low on fuel when doing it?

its the fuel pump. apparently there was a batch of them that suffered this issue. my S3 XR8 did it, so took it back to Ford and they replaced it with a hi flow pump (which is the factory fix for the issue) under warranty, and problem gone. usually only happens below half tank.

I agree it's very likely to be the fuel pump, mine had the same problem........replaced it back in 2004 and haven't had the issue since! HTH

Thanks all for the input and ideas. I pulled the fuel pump out, to find a bit of water in the tank. All drained and much better

happened to me, the pick up filter is in the wrong position should be under the return line back from the motor,as said when the tank get low and you accelarate the motor surges .
