Default Aussie Fords in UK

Hi Guys

Seeing as I had to go to the UK for personal and family reasons I decided to take a couple of Aussie Fords with me! Might as well drive something different to the usual Fiestas,Mondeos and Focus on the road here.....
Anyway I now have the only XG falcon panel van in the UK plus one of only a very few SA Capris on the road here.

Both have passed UK rego, but the Capri has a problem with the combined indicator and headlight switch. With the headlights on low beam it chops and changes to high beam when you go over a bump! I reckon the switch is worn. However believing these to be the same as a Mazda 323 under the skin, I headed off to the local wreckers and found the Mazda units look identical but the wiring is different on the back, and in short it will not fit. Can anybody tell me what model of Mazda has the correct switch to fit a Capri? Or else where can I buy a guaranteed good switch from OZ?
I also need a good gas strut for the bootlid.

Both cars certainly grab a lot of attention wherever they go....the Falcon is still on Queensland plates which have the palm tree & "Tropical Queensland" slogan, and people shout G'Day Mate, wave, and give you the thumbs up sign when you drive around!

Dave

Welcome to AFF

A lot more Fords made it over to the UK than you think!

When I was based in London , me and a mate would be cruising around in a BMW Z3 with Victoria - "The place to be" registration for over three years!
