Bloody hell, I wish I had a decision like that to make! Haha.
I havnt driven the FG versions, but at a guess I would think people who have will say... Head: F6 Tornado Heart: Super Pursuit Worth bearing in mind that a new V8 is coming out, and if you dont want to have a superceded engine (and the corresponding hit to resale) then the F6 would be the one to get from that perspective as the Turbo 6 aint going nowhere for a while. |

If your going to use it for work and get it all dirty and banged up maybe go for a less expensive toy like the XR6T or XR8, unless of course when you say company car all you mean is they are paying for it lol!, in that case id go for the F6 and the moment, if you can wait go for the SC 5ltr that will be here in a few months!

Which model? BA/BF or FG?
Turbo would have better consumption unless you're on boost 24/7 lol |

f6 is faster(1/4) handles better and more economical when driven sedatly . After saying i still buy the super pursuit - all though in the right hands the v8 has been faster around the circuit.
An if that means nothing to you my advice is test drive the both and purchase which ever that floats your boat. Just noticed you will be towing the trailer i have to say now go with the v8 if it was the fg it may be a different story . I have a mate that tows a trailer with a ba xr6t and my 260(modded) burns about 1.5lt less per hundred and with no lag at all feels a lot better in stop start traffic. But there is a few varibles we have not weighed trailers just guessed there of a similar weight . hope this helps Last edited by snappy; 26-03-2010 at 06:43 PM. |

Who worries about fuel consumption when they're buying an FPV?
It's like painting your nails and wondering which colour looks less gay. |

If running costs are important remember that rego and insurance play a part too. You can buy a fair bit of fuel for the difference between rego on a 6cyl vs an 8 in QLD. Insurance can vary a lot too cause the factors in calculating the premium are complex and don't always seem to make sense on the surface.

As an owner of a BF SP, if I was to make that choice again, I would say the F6. Cheaper to rego, cheaper to run, faster and easier to mod with more bang for your buck. Not to mention the V8's will take quite a resale beating when the new V8 comes out. Although this last point will make a good time to buy if you must have a V8, wait until all the second hand SP's hit the market.
My final call, the F6 by a long way.

Go for a test drive. Either the V8 rumble will steal your heart, or the 'woosh' of the turbo will. For me I couldn't walk away from that V8 rumble.
