AU rims are +36 offset, E series are +0.

Not really possible.

It's possible, I spot them in traffic all the time.

But it's really dumb and also illegal (due to track change) so you disqualify yourself from being registered which also means no insurance

E-series rims have something like 30-40mm (depending on model and wheel size) less offset than AU's. This means E-series wheels will stick out that much more either side if fitted to an AU. The overall track variation that you can legally have is 25/6mm (1 inch) total, not the 60-80mm this will give.

Also, depending on wheel size they may poke out past the bodywork (another defect) and have clearance issues during suspension and/or steering movement. Then there is the extra load placed on the bearings and suspension components from the extra leverage from the offset change etc etc.

Do I really need to say more....
