Default Seat belt replacement and Floor mat clips.

The Barge will need a new drivers side seatbelt before long. Has anyone here replaced one?

If so......
How much? ...I'm guessing only Ford dealers would keep them and how hard are they to install...... Don't even think of saying they're cheap at a wrecker!

Secondly, the clips that hold the front floor mats down have fallen apart. Can these still be bought? And, no I haven't rang our local Ford dealer yet, just thought I'd ask here first

I only know prices from the wreckers, around $70-110 each!
I dont know Ford prices unfortunately.
I do know that they arent too hard to install, a bit fiddly, just have a torx bit set, a ratchet, a socket set, and a screwdriver set. Be patient, write down how they come out, take pictures if you can so you can go back to when putting them back in. You should be able to do them in about 10-15minutes each. Except the one in the centre of the back seat. Only way I could get one out at the wreckers was to hack the parcelshelf apart with whizz snips, lol.

Serious monty? I bagged one for my white AU1 last year for about $30. Uninstalled it myself, of course.

Yeah it's pretty simple Gaso, just take off the plastic cowling that covers the height adjuster, unbolt it from behind there and unbolt it from the floor and out she comes. Installation, surprisingly, is the reverse.

i asked how much a drivers side seat belt was a while ago, my retractor is getting a little lethargic at times (like me), sorry i don`t remember the figure, i do remember clutching my heart momentarily and thinking i`ll let that one go for a while longer, but i think it does come with the pillar cover(but i could be wrong) which gets a bit ratty anyway so its prolly not that bad.

Yeah, thats the best prices I could get from a wreckers. Wacol Pick a part on the other hand, $49 all you can carry, I got 5, plus a plethora of other parts.

I was hoping this is the case as there's no way to get the belt through it that I can see.

I see no one has any idea on the little clips for the floor mats....bugger.

I replaced the drivers-side belt not long ago. Auto stores wanted abotu $350 for a new one but I got one from FTG for about $70, including freight.

Just need the torx bit, and there is no requirement for a new pillar cover.

It's extremely intuitive, and very simple - Just like Mr Hardware has stated.

Having had a closer look at these pics (the last photo in particular) and then the plastic cover in the Barge there's no way the belt will fit through the adjustable slot.

Looks like I'll be buying a belt already fitted with a cover.

Trust me, it does fit through. Once you remove the B-pillar trims, you'll see how.

Um, I don't see how. If you compare my belt with the one in the link that Whiskers sent there is a major difference where the belt goes through.

I have only about 2mm clearance. The plastic part that the belt actually goes through seems to be missing from the pics in the link.

The plastic part is attached to the belt assembly (seen as black in whiskers' pic, but white/beige in other AUs).

The bottom of the belt, where it bolts on the floor is the end that you slide through the B-pillar cover (just take the bolt out first).

You do not need a new cover.

Aha! This is the bit that I thought it wouldn't fit through.

Thank you.

No worries mate.

So you undo the bottom bolt on the floor, then carefully prise the B-pillar cover off and lower it towards the seat. Take that bolt out that you just undid and slide the belt through the cover. Then the rest is fairly straight forward.

Let us know if you get in trouble!

Yep you have to take the rear seat out to get to the bolt on the floor, then just pop the plastic off where the actualll mechanism is it self, and just undo the bolts or the torx bolts,

the seat is clipped in so you grab the front of the seat on the bottom bit and gently lift it up and it should unclip and come out

Joys of the AU -- it just pops out if you lift it; unlike the EF, which you have to push and lift at the same time.

Is the seat belt winding mechanism under the bottom of the back seat or do i need to take the back of the back seat off as well. Does anyone have a link they can post with pics or a manual of this.
Thanks again
