Default Car Twins.

I went on a massive All Ford Day cruise in Perth today, and I came across my car twin today.

XH5LWEPN's missus car, 'HER 50L'

what a tripout that was cruising with those guys down to Mandurah.

Both AU2 Fairmonts.

Both Monsoon Blue.

Both have the same Tickford Body kit with no rear spoiler.

Both slammed.

Both have black wheels. Only difference, her's were 20's and mine are 17's.

First difference. 5.0L vs 4.0L.

Only other difference was a little bit of exterior chrome.

Was really bizarre. It got me thinking, has anyone else ever seen an 'exact' car-twin of their car, including mod's etc??? Plenty of White BA Wagons out on the street, but not many of the more obscure colours with the SAME mods.

While I haven't seen any with the same mods, recently my next door neighbour bought a Platinum Silver EA Fairmont Ghia... so it's a bit crazy with the 2 adjacent houses both having pretty much the same model car

****Warning: a car from teh dark side to be mentioned in the following passage

Turned up one day to Professional Exhausts in tullamarine 10 years ago to get my exhaust done

Was driving a VN Calais with rare colour combination of Dove Grey with Rose Gold coloured moulds

Lowered with VS Senator 10 spoke 17s

Exact twin was parked in the driveway.

Very funny. owner must have thought I was some crazed stalker

This reminds me as well, around 11 years ago now, maybe slightly more, my old man had a Burgundy EL Fairmont, 5L, Lowered, Exhaust, rear spoiler, sunroof, FTR's etc. The neighbour liked it so much that we went out and bought one exactly the same LOL

I got fed up with going to Mustang outings and seeing lots of Candyapple red 69 fastbacks. Mine has a rarer red interior, but from a distance it looked the same as most of the others. Quite often i'd turn up to a show and there would be at least one other red car like mine. There is also one getting around that also has the red interior, but it is a factory 428. Mine is a 351. Now i know what it feels like for a woman to turn up to an outing wearing the same dress as another woman. In the end, i got sick of it, so i fitted the billet grille just to differentiate my car from a distance. Plus i think it looks cool.

Well I'm old school cars and I'm afraid anything after 1990 all looks the same. Can see them in any shopping centre car park.
I was at that cruise and I think I saw about 75% of the cars, saw only 1 XD and handful of XC's and others but truckloads of AU's, BA's BF's etc.
With those old cars you'd be battling to find 2 the same because over the years owners have put their own special touches to them.
Anyway, great day, great turnout.

There were only about 10 AU's that werent T-series. quite a few T-Series though.

That being said, there was still PLENTY of old school stuff there. But there will never be the same amount as newer stuff. It just isnt as accessible to average Joe.

Ive got an '89 Pulsar sedan in yellow. Found the exact same car, down to the first half of the plates being identical, in the next suburb over.

Went to Manly with the better half and after thinking we would never find a park happened to find one... right next to this

Mine had my name on it in case it ever gets lost (or mixed up)...

Funny considering how rare the model of car is.

I have seen an acid rush BA XT with the same wheels and ride height as mine. No colour coding or chrome so it's more like the younger brother instead of the twin.

I've seen the same. When i had my Pearl Blue BA Futura - the original number plates were AYTO6L. About a year after buying the car, on the next street over i saw my exact 'older' brother car - a BA Fairmont, same pearl blue colour, number plates were AYT60L. Was astounded!

heritage green ef futura wagon with 16" ftr's parked next to my heritage green ef gli wagon, also with 16" ftr's, parked down at westfield tuggerah before.
but i have the ride height at xr height. the futura was 4x4...

then on the way back from where that was we were at the lights next to an heritage green ef xr6 sedan also with 16" ftr's.... we both managed to keep up with eachother til the next set of lights and that was a non tickford wagon vs a tickford 6 sedan......

3 cars all the same colour, 2 wagon and sedan.... all the same wheels, except i have bbq fuel etc

edit: i had to look three times at the ef xr6 sedan as i thought i was trippin

Rocked up to Sandown 2 years ago, turned into pitlane and you can imagine my surprise when I saw 4 other Lightening Strike F6 Typhoons all parked side by side.

Apon entering my car at Small Ford Sunday earlier in the year I was surprised to find that a fellow from NSW had come down to vic to enter his Focus. Both cars were identical when stock and we have both added stripes. However I've done a little more suspension work. Mine is on the left and Neale's (who is also here on the forums) is on the right.
