Help centering steering wheel

Help. I have just rotated my sons AU's tyres (front to back, same side). Now his steering wheel is off centre (off to the left about 15%) where before it was dead level. What have I done wrong?

You've probably knocked it out of alignment. Pop down to your local tyre place for a wheel alignment.
Did you not loosen and tighten the nuts whilst it was on the ground?

You can't have knocked it out of alignment just by changing tyres. You will find the tyres you have placed on the front will have uneven wear on either the inside or outside of the tread and this is what is causing the problem. If they are unidirectional tyres you can have them R&R and swapped inside to out on the rims and then replace on opposite side of the vehicle. This will either fix it or cause it to go the other way. It is worth a try otherwise the only option is new tyres for the front; or you could just put it back the way it was.

You are correct. They have about 10,000 km's left in them and they are worn. I put them back the way they were and bingo all good. I had a wheel alignment done about 4 months ago.

Check tyres pressures also, one of those tyres that were on the rear may have a lower pressure than the other.
