Bought my WRX over from Tauranga to Sydney a few years ago..[Personal Import]
Make sure you have all the paper work done on the Aust side so it can be off loaded... Steam clean everything before shipment... Back then it was $1200 drive on drive off.. Didn't use container...

If its an old car you will need a Permit to Import from Aus Gov, this is a must have. Also proof of how much you paid for it so a local value can be established so they can slam you with GST on it. His Car is a 1969 Plymoth Road Runner. What are you brining in? It looks like it might be different for modern cars. Cheers, Dave |

Looking at costs to get the T2 into the country. Trying to work out if I sell it and find another at a later
date or bring it into the country. |

With insurance with this car, you will have to tell insurance companys it is an import. Most insurance will not insure it because it is an import. This applies even if it was a car that was released here in Aus. If you do not tell them and need to make a claim, they will give you a headache for it.

A Falcon is NOT an Import and on a 68 Plymoth it won't matter...
Had no insurance issues with my WRX .. Yes some have issues if the same model wasn't sold here...
