Depends how much you wanna spend.

I had a look on RTA website at combos and prices.. Chose what I was going for.. Then in note pad on my phone I made a weird and wonderful list of possible plates..

Then put them into the website... Was stoked when one of my top choices came up as available 

all 3 are taken.... they all belong to people on this forum too...

unfortunately, you cannot have the same combination as someone else anywhere else in Aus.... so say you lived in WA, and you wanted RIPHSV plates, if another person lived in NSW with RIPHSV plates well then you wouldn't be able to get them...

It's because the camera's can't tell the difference between each state's plates .... typica

I dunno about RIPHSV.... Could always just type it into "Search" up the top and see what you come up with ...

Don't use anything that puts you up for a race unless you have the minerals to back it up.

Do you have a nickname everyone knows you by? That way you can keep it for ever because its not car specific, thats what I did for mine

Something like this perhaps:

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Not sure where you got that from, EATHSV etc are available in QLD. Doesn't matter if it exists in another state, I've seen "quick" in 3 different states

Dunno who told you that, but it's completely wrong. All plates have a state identifier on them for a reason and the systems are in no way linked. Not only do the same personalised plates exist in each state, but so do some standard issue.

You are right about the camera's though, certainly some of them cant tell the difference. Was a story on that hard hitting current affairs program(lol) Today Tonight a little while back about a little old lady whose car with personalised plates had been sitting in her shed for years, but was racking up hundreds of dollars in citylink & speeding fines due to the NSW equilivent plate being in Vic.

You might think along the lines of being about the car/driver or both
Just got these in Qld.
Could be for the car or the driver (in this case the Wife and the car!!)

I've seen ARESTD in the flesh and believe me it's a damn nice car, minus the chev badges.

I'm trying to get my nickname on the plates however at $2395 it's a tad too much.
