Default Finally got one

Hi all, just had to brag to people that understand. We finally picked up our mondeo last night. Been going to get one for the last year and finally bit the bullet and did it.

Bought a used (18 month old) titanium diesel with 40k on the clock, maybe a little high but we don't drive that much so it will balance out. Even has a tow pack on it which might come in handy. Is an ex lease Tasmanian dept of human services car so has been very well maintained. All up it cost us $34k which I think is a bloody good price. We even got a whopping $800 trade in for our old Saab

The only thing I have found so far is that it doesn't have floor mats in it, I thought these were standard on the titanium? We definitely want to get some so the kids don't trash the carpets. Is it best to go for the genuine ford ones (~$130 for front and back) or save some cash and get some aftermarket ones of eBay?

And finally thanks to everyone here, reading this forum and getting answers to my questions made it that much easier to by the car

Congrats on the purchase. Colour? Throw up some pictures if you get a chance mate.

Regarding floor mats, go the genuine ones. Most aftermarket mats aren't that much cheaper anyway.

Get the Ford rubber mats if you can. They protect the carpet much better than the carpet mats.

40,000 kms is nothing for a modern diesel. My previous Mondeo (petrol) showed very little wear at 50,000 kms, apart from the brakes!

Thanks for the tip. But don't the rubber mats look a but tacky? Dint really want to detract from the lush interior

nice pick up... as mentioned 40,000kms is nothing on a diesel. also why have lovely carpet and then cover it with ugly rubber mats?? can't see the point of keeping the carpet nice if you can't see it to enjoy it!! lol...

enjoy. morello is an excellent colour for the luxury model mondy...

Just depends what you need the mats to do. Mine is a work vehicle and I drive it wearing dirty safety boots sometimes. But in town, then get a set of quality carpet mats. The standard Ford mats aren't great, you might be better off with a good aftermarket set.

Went for the ford premium carpet ones. Mainly because there is a ford dealer one block from my office. Told them they were for a used titanium I bought that didn't come with them. As a result they knocked $40 off the cost. I didn't even buy the car from them

They are standard on the titanium. But the used one we bought didn't have them. Didn't even have the pegs installed for fitting the drivers side one to.

Congratulations and sweet colour! We love our Mondy as I'm sure you will. Ford has nailed it with this series Mondeos! Hope they produce these type of cars for many years.
