Did anyone notice not one Ford advertisement during Bathurst yesterday? No wonder they are not selling Falcons!! (watching Channel 7 in Sydney)
The only bit of Ford advertising was on a windscreen banner on some Fords - but were they advertising Falcon? No - they were advertising the Ranger. Holden and HSV accounted for probably 6-10 ads during the race and I even saw 1-2 BMW ads. Perhaps this is why Commodore is still topping the sales charts. Ford Australia are slowly killing off Falcon....they dont want you to buy it. SHAME FORD AUSTRALIA!! |

I would have thought a ford running around the race track all day might be all the advertising they needed. Blue flags, logos etc etc.

The very first ad on TV after the race started was the Moffat GT ad, saw it repeatedly all day.
Oh, in before the lock! |

Wouldve been a good opportunity to run the XR6 LPi internet shorts. But ah well, another opportunity lost. Again.

Saw the F6 ad up here in qld a number of times, along with the maloo ads.
Got sick of Coates hire though. Some people did say that they saw the Allan Moffat "hear it again" ad a few times in other states. So not as shameful as you think... What is shameful though is the amount of "Ford supporters" whinging every Bathurst that there is not enough advertising. Most if us know how Ford advertise now and know Ford isn't Holden, who plug everything. You want to have your chosen car company advertised, buy Holden. In before the lock too

Definitely not one Ford ad during the Sydney broadcast....not for Falcon or any other Ford product for that matter - I took particular note because I firmly believe part of the sales failure of Falcon is due to lack of advertising. The product is great, certainly as good, if not better than VE, but why does Falcon not have its fair share of this market.....IMO Ford don't market Falcon.
Surely, at the premiere motorsport event in Australia you would have some type of marketing campaign promoting Falcon, the car actually in the race? |

$2 grand prix would have been a good ad for the day.

Oh well, I guess I am in the minority on this, but as far as I can see Ford are doing very little to prolong the life of the Australian made Falcon. IMO they have no passion for it and are purposely winding it down. I am sure they would love to just stop making it now but there is too much politics involved, job losses, plant closures, suppliers, etc, etc. So instead they need to string it out of a number of years before the final nail in the coffin. It's happening already, no Fairlane/LTD, No Wagon, No XR8. What's next....no Falcon. As far as I can see it is just a matter of time and what a sad, sad day this will be.

Bathurst aside, the FPV products have been marketed pretty heavily in Sydney the last couple of months, always seeing the GT and F6 ads plus the new Ford terrirory ads on in prime time. Also its good to see Ford marketing the TV show Rush showing the new territories and G6E Turbos.
Maybe Ford hoped that the Bathurst hype alone would drum up some sales without spending big $$$.

Just because someone posts a comment regarding falcon sales/advert and potentially hasn't the means or isn't in the market right now, doesn't make their comments any less important than anyone elses. Doesn't make them right, but neither does it make anyone who has bought a Falcon ni the last year right on all topics. To others having shots at the OP, why all the hostility? Respond to his comments thoughtfully or why bother posting? Anyway, I used to think Ford's advertising for the Falcon was absolutely garbage, but not so much these days. I think there focus has shifted to small/medium markets.

Everyone knows what a Falcon is. Ford are doing what they need to be, diversifying their advertising across all their products. It is Ford not the Falcon company.
