Default V8 Spark Plugs

I know i am bringing up an old topic, but whats the going price for V8 Spark Plugs? I know i can get a good deal on Denso PT16EPR-L13, but want to hear what others think of a set of 8 for $80 inc freight.

b2tf will correct me but I think the NGK BPR6EFS-13 for the 304 do the job... about $3.75 each in my neck of the woods.

Spot on. I run the same plugs in my XR8 as I do in my VN headed 383.

Heat range from memory. As for gap just put them in as per normal.

Heat range is correct, I believe the 6's are a colder plug; the BPR5EFS-13 and the BPR6EFS-13 both have a 1.3mm gap.

That's what the NGK website comes up with but the Iridiums make no difference to the engine, so I have come to believe..

That's the listed plug for them, which is funny because the gap of those are incorrect and need to be regapped before putting them in. The standard NGK plugs listed above are the way to go.

Yes, that's what they have listed on their website but you don't NEED to use Iridiums, the BPR6EFS-13 mentioned already are the correct gap etc for our Windsors and do the trick fine.

The TR55IX are the Iridiums; but really why would you pay $20 (retail) x 8 plugs for Iridiums, when you can get the BPR6EFS13's for $3.50ea (retail / supercheap)? Sure the Iridiums last longer, but considering you could do 5 sets of plugs for the same cost, who cares.

Just replaced my plugs with the BPR6EFS13s - thanks for the advice.

How often are you guys replacing these given the service manual would be based on the Iridiums?

I just changed a set of BPR6EFs on my ute that had done about 20000km.
They were past their prime but were not what you would call trashed.
