Default 1 year old Yaris with 240,000+kms

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7895

Very interesting thread from yaris US forum. This guy is crazy as he drives his Toyota at least 600km+ a day. And he certainly deserves something from Toyota PR team!

150,000 Miles is shocking, almost as shocking as the fact there is a site called YarisWorld :

Those Yaris, Vitz or Echoes are not too bad cars really, real easy to work on and niec and reliable. My folks have an 01 model and the only problem with it was the rear drum inside the disc for the handbrake was squeaking.

Stuff doing 600Km a day in one of those! I had the mis-fortune of having to drive long distances in those things!

2 Hours of cramped driving: sore back and legs, gutless acceleration...

I used to own a dec 05 Yaris, they have more leg room and head room than anyfalcon ive driven.. not going to win any racers with it but still 17.8 1/4 from a 1.3 getting 7l/100k's thrashing the poop out of it is good in my books lol

Oh and I sold it after 17 months and it had 32000k's on it :P

I had a Yaris when i was in QLD for the weekend a few weeks ago.

Surprisingly good car actually, You could easily do 600+kms in one a day in comfort.

the X-taxi i purchased to strip a few months back was a 02/BA with 000009 on the clock
sadley, it was cut down whist it was still running :(
it has a slight run in with a range rover,
the falcon won... it was still started

(yep, it rolled the million)

Reading that post made me sad... my V8 Fairlane's PB was 17.4 :(

600km's per day? Damn, I just sick of the Fairlane after half that!

our 94 Hilux is just about to go 700,000km... still on original engine, box and diff....... its starting to get a bit tired. we were going to replace it but have decided to just keep it, as nothing ever goes wrong with it, it doesnt cost us anything other than fuel and servicing, so..

we wanna see how many more km's it has in it

I'd say you've got heaps more.. I had a 2002 Hilux and work traded that in once it hit 400000.. I never had any major problems at all. Great vehicles really...

Some of Queensland rails BA / BF Falcons do 150,000 kays a year.. Basically checking tracks I believe.

I could do 500 kays a day in a car providing it was all highway, i couldnt do 500 kays around brisbane coz A) i wouldnt get anywhere and B) id pull my hair out.

Ive also heard of a bloke that does like 15,000 per month transporting deseased people in a Falcon wagon.. He does alot of Adelaide to QLD I believe.

Yep agree totally.

A big improvement over the echo and their level of refinement is alot higher than the price-point of the car.

I don't care what car you dish out, i couldn't do 600km+ everyday.
that sort of Kms everyday, even the top end of the market would get boring.

Absolutely.

I'd have to have a whole stable of exotic cars. I think if I was doing 600km+ a day in a Yaris I would have either topped myself or I'd be sitting in a padded room bound by a straight jacket.

600 k`s a day isnt too bad , a bloke that used to come into the servo i worked in years ago did 1500 k`s per day in an fairly beat up looking xc panel van, the poor bugger always looked like death warmed up.
