Exclamation Severe weather heading towards Sydney

I saw on the news that there's a severe storm heading towards Sydney. Not only torrential rain and flash flooding but gale force winds too. It's a dangerous and potent combination of 3 factors: high tide caused by the full moon, high winds, and rain. Together, the weather service said it will be a danger to those in Sydney and those on the NSW coastline. Rain is expected to reach 2inches (50mm) and winds are estimated to be 75mph (120km/h).

To those of you in Sydney and on the coastline, please stay safe and please don't take unnecessary risks. Please let me know the conditions there.

It's been pretty bad in the Shire, but I think we're out of the worst of it.

God help those on the Central Coast, however.

It's on its way to us folk in Newcastle. The announcer on the radio has indicated it won't be as bad as first thought.

50mm is a shower. I have pics on another forum of my unit the other day with water creeping up the walls lol. We had 10mm in 10 mins and 50mm in 4 hrs with a total of 101mm for the day, but the airport is our rain guage which is 15km out of town. In actual town we no doubt had way more.

Either way, to anybody in aereas of high rain and winds, stay safe.

Was fine up here last night, was more on/off rain and a bit of wind so it wasn't too bad.

We are just sailing back to Melbourne (8hrs away from Port Phillip Bay) after a month working Bass Strait. The last 3 days we got hit with 130kmh winds and 12m seas crashing into us, was not the most pleasant time we’ve had in the last 18 months down here....

Thankfully this is our last swing down here.......
