Calder Park has new pricing for people participating in street meets, a $50 increase is a step rise and I think this see many of the younger drivers bulk at paying this new entry fee and stay away from the track.
Press release from there website. Off Street Drags NEW FEE STRUCTURE In spite of our attempts to keep our costs down for entry fees, our costs have risen dramatically for safety, VHT, Insurance (both public liability Insurance and driver, crew, official and volunteer personal accident insurance for 2012. Note that our insurance is twice the level of Andra cover. however our entry fees have not changed for almost four years. The New Fee Structure will be as follows: STREET RACE ENTRY $130 including GST (1 Crew) COMPETITION CAR ENTRY $190 including GST (3 Crew) APPLICABLE from 1st July 2012

I think we should all perform illegal drag racing, and riot to show our disgust.

This is the exact reason I tell everyone to support heathcote - once heathcote is gone Calder will rip you even more.
Although insurance is getting very expensive and i have seen more big accidents at Calder than Heathcote and with today's society they will very happily try and sue for any accident that occurs Quote:

I have never been to Calder but with prices like that, it can only lead to Heathcote getting more business.
Let's hope the prices there don't go up too much. I love Heathcote. The track has amazing atmosphere. Been there a few times on non-AFF events and it still has a great feel about it. Cheers Col

The safety safari and track prep at Calder allows you to run much faster cars and be much safer as well.
However I have already shown my displeasure for the product decrease AND price rise.

That price is ludicrous, compared to what it used to be, and compared to other tracks.
Greedy Bob Jane. I guess now that he's back with his gold digging ex-wife he needs the cash now. |

Big jump, i think unfortunantly more people are going to resort to illegal meets/public street racing. Its a shame things are going this way, if the price is kept realistic then people have no excuse to not street race.
Must admit that heathcote is a long way up the road, but however if they are keeping the price real then i think they will do well out of this. Only thing that plays on some peoples minds is if things go to **** on the track at heathcote such as a crash, its a long way to the nearest hospital. |

What a rip off! As soon as CAMS came on board (a few days ago), the prices go WAY up!
So for 3 x400m you pay $130! 1.2km! The Nurburgring costs about $40 for 22km! I know its not drags, but for $120 you can go to Winton and have a 20min lap session every hour all day! |
