Default Porsche 911 Turbo cut in half

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-...922-26e5h.html

Quote:
CUTTING $420,000 worth of Porsche in half may seem like madness.
But the German motoring company did just that to provide an insight into the engineering, technology and craftsmanship that goes into one of the world's best loved car brands.
For Gulson Porsche sales manager Ralf Behrens, this current model 911 turbo coupe isn't just a car, it's a piece of artwork.
In its complete form, the sports car produces 353 kilowatts of power, can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h.

''I've always had a thing for Porsches, they're phenomenal cars, a cut above the rest,'' Mr Behrens said.
While there's not many kilometres on the odometer, this current turbo coupe has covered thousands of kilometres as part of a world tour.
It is in Canberra to appear at today's Shannons German Auto Display 2012, at the Treasury building car park in Parkes.
The show celebrates all German automobile brands.
The organiser of the Volkswagen and Audi displays, Bruce Walker, said more than 300 cars were expected.
He said the majority of vehicles on show were from Canberra, but interstate participants from as far away as Sydney, Melbourne and the Riverina were expected.
''Everyone has their various likes and dislikes [but] the common theme is a love of German machinery,'' Mr Walker said.
But what makes a German car better than other brands?
''They're made very reliably and years later there's so many on the road, so it's a true show of how well they were made.''

I'd sell a kidney to have a Porsche Turbo in the driveway...

Awesome piece of marketing...where's the "cut in half" Ford Falcon in the front window? Be a lot cheaper for Ford to do that...of course they might actually have to slap a bit of paint on stuff like the rusty looking bare iron engine blocks, but you know...

The Ford Discovery Centre had a number of cutaway Falcons they had used in Motorshows back in the 70's. I remember an XB wagon and a few others.
