A bid at $900k?

Has badbundybear listed it?

Edit: Herald Sun was wrong. It currently has no bids on it. I am shocked !

Edit: Bid retracted -

It will be interesting to see if the bidder is legit.

However, consumers didn't want to pay $140,000 for the VE 427, I doubt this will make it.

One of two 427 monaros ( no doubt the last australian coupes that will ever be built)
I can see the attraction
No different to a phase 4, only difference being that the phase 4's probably went for a song

People are a lttle more astute now but it is a lot of money

Someone put a dodge bid in for $900 000, and it was removed.

nekminnit, Drive makes a huge fuss about it, slow news week.

Well, for $75,000 you can have it. Still pretty much brand new/undriven.

I remember when this thing was announced when I was back in high school and I love as much now as I did then.

I don't have $1mil and probably never will but it's no more stupid than the GTs that go for the big money considering it is very rare.

What he said. And if I had $1M spare, I would definitely buy it (even though it's a Holden). New monaro, old monaro = both classics, I reckon.

I thought Monaro's didn't have the split grille, and VX's run either a squared off inner edge headlight (HSV variant) or a teardrop headlight (non-hsv). This one screams 1998.

Yep if I had the cash. Don't care if it is Ford or Holden.

Part of this country's automotive history when the auto makers had some balls to be creative.

Mate right here in Adelaide dropped 100k deposit for one of these road going versions back in the day. When they pulled the plug he spat it and ordered his new GTS COUPE with the 427. Fitted at the dealership. Money talks and BS walks.

Monaros had slightly different headlights to the VT, the inside edge is a different shape where it meets the grill.

The 427's bar has the same grill shapes as the regular monaro, but with different inserts.

No.

I have an unhealthy hatred of many things the GM spin doctors do which fools the great unwashed. But this is close to, if not the top of the pile. Announcing this car, then fielding 3 modded ordinary cars in, and winning the Bathurst 12 hour to great fanfare, then not actually building any while the GM faithful keep crapping on. To my mind they should have there win stripped. Lance Armstrong style.

I'll give you $100 for it, then then let's all come over for a BBQ. Monaro style.

This is the lesser one of the two 427's built. It's missing a few things like the 8 throttle body carbon fibre manifold. As far as I know he paid $920k in 2008 but a Gts-R was included in that price too. I thought it was re-sold at Auction for 350k in 2010 when Chooka went bust.

Anyway..$1m = Pagani Huayra
