What do you prefer overall

5.0L Windsor V8
Or
5.4L Barra V8

I personally prefer the Windsor V8.... Its bulletproof & yes it has a much longer history over the Barra series V8

Honestly.... The new Barra V8.... Is appauling as said by many people & reviewers say similar words

Its just not a "Traditional" V8

The way it delievers its so called power, it hesitates a tad
Its not the best of quality either in my opinion

The 5.6L Windsor in the T3 T-Series may not have been a BOSS by name, but it's definitely a BOSS by reputation.

That maybe so

If i want good movement i just unleash my 97' rolls that has about 270kw / 370hp at the flywheel and a little over 680nm of torque.... Stock standard :P

And considering it weighs about 2300kg it moves pretty quick from 0-100... In about 6.26 seconds i got the other day and that was about 3/4 throttle
I think i could pull 5- 5.5 seconds out of her if i give her all what she is eager to pump out

Are there any hsv's doing 0-100 slower than 9 seconds, because unless you're rolls is modified, its only good for 9's and 10's

Maybe throw the invitation out then if your rolls is so great
The only real way anything is quicker or slower is a timed event, and im sure there would be many a holden or ford V8 ,or even turbo 6 owner who would gladly embarees the rolls, run after run after run

Throw the invite out see what happens ............

my Camira used to pull mid 5's to 100 in my paddock, that was at 5/8ths throttle, but i'd smashed the drivers door glass out previously so it was pretty light

seriously though, it's not the first time we've had this conversation Ford-Lover1991, you need to stop speaking so rudely to everyone simply because they disagree with your worldly notions.

i don't even know where to start.. i can't recall seeing ANYONE say the barra 220/230 is appalling in my 8 years of being on here. In fact, it's a fantastic motor, and.... "hesitates a tad"... what?! The 3V is FULL of low end torque, and with a proper intake/exhaust/tune will flog many, many cars off the line. The 3V is not a traditional v8 in what sense? 8 Cylinders, fuel injection.. which part are we diverting on here? Is it because it doesn't have pushrods, and carbys? I love the Barra 220/230 and aside from the early chain tensioners/phasers issue and needing regular spark plug changes, it is also a very tough motor.

-your friendly Windsor lover.
