Default oil pressure sensor

Hi guys just a quick question can you run a oil pressure switch rather then a sender in the series 1 xr6 thanks

Ahh ok cool reason I ask is my sender had failed so I decided to use to the normal switch found in ordinary falcins but the guage reads zero and the oil light is constantly on

Series one you need the sender for a high or mid series dash not the switch

So series one xr dash isnt compatable with the standard switch and needs a sender to bring up a reading on the guage?
