Hey ive posted this elsewhere but not sure if in correcg area..
I was pulling out of shop before in first gear when i put clutch in to go to second i heard a loud bang and the clutch went straight to the floor. Everything is still connected and whe i lifted the hood and pulled on cable from opposing directio it was tight but when i pulled in direction u pull it back to adjust there was like 10cm+ worth of play even with it full adjusted but whe u pull u canhear the clutch pedal banging as it gets back into position. I drove home as back doors wont lock and wasnt in safe spot, so prob stuffed the t5 changing gears.. Also have done the firewall cable plate mod thing and reinforced pedal box. Everything looks co nected still and the cable doesnt look snapped unless the cable under the rubber covering is snapped as i didnt change when the firewall and pedal box stuffed up. Ive got no idea if someone could shed some light would be great. It has heavy duty clutch and on ebay ford 4l cables r 80 inc postage (if thats the prob) |

They're pretty common to snap. I've done 2 of them in my EA within a few years of each other.

Cable is old and needed replacing anyway but cable didnt snap or stretch.. the bit from cable that hooks on to clip on flywheel was bent or mustve snapped a piece of metal from it. The bit under the dust cover. I tried re bending it and reinforcing with **** but clutch destroyed all my efforts the first time i pushed clutch in... whats the part called i need and is this common..

Does anyone know what the part is that the other end of clutch cable connects to under the dust cover box near fly wheel area?? Where clutch cable hooks on too, NOT from pedal box side...
