Default WT vs WZ (not ST)

compared my car to a WZ Trend today
what i found:
basically its was the same
now has blue dash lights (i do like red better)
has grey/green dash fascia (ugly) i was hoping there were going to be piano black like the euro ones
shadow chrome steering wheel trim which looks nice
nice chrome front grille but only the top grille the lower one was black
nicer seat trim but same seats, still a mix of grey and green plastics which looks cheap
microsoft sync
slow 1.5l engine
better 15in mag wheel design

really just looks like a new front end on an old car

they still had the WT's for $15990, LX Auto for $19,990, Zetec 5sp for $21990 and a demo metal thats been around for a while now as nobody wants it

i think a runout zetec would be a better car than a WZ trend for the same $$

There is a Metal on carsales for $26,657 drive away.

The ST has killed it really.

As for the WT v WZ, shouldn't you be looking at The Zetec v the Sport?
I would say the Sport is better equipped than the Zetec. Better stereo. SYNC. Scuff Plates. Knee Airbag. Partial Leather Seat Inserts.
While it may be a great time to strike a deal on any outgoing Zetecs, as it should be, the Sport looks pretty good.

i don't think the sport is due out for another 4-6 weeks. and yeah who would buy a metal for $26k when an ST is $28k plus its newer. maybe i'll keep an eye on the metal demo it might go for under $20k??

The current Fiestas have a driver's knee airbag.

The brochure says they do. Can't say I've ever used mine

They have it. You can see the flap under the steering column and it says airbag on it.
Thankfully i haven't used mine either :P

The Sport due in Dec 2013 should be a very interesting car with the 1.0L 3cyl turbo engine which is be much better than the 1.5L NA engine for not that much more $ conisdering better equipment also.

Not sure about the partial leather trim though, looks tacky, try hard luxury. From what I can see from pics they look very much vinyl and not leather. Let's hope it is real leather looking like vinyl instead of the other way round.

This member posted a download link, with instruction, on how to do it myself. One week on, the unit hasn't played up once. Three different dealers told me to virtually 'Live with it.

.
It is a different car though. I would call the Metal a more luxury model.

This one is only 21k...I would imagine you could possibly get it for even less http://www.carsales.com.au/bncis/det.../?Cr=0&sdmvc=1

I look forward to test driving the 1.0 ECOboost. Looks well equipped and cheap as to run. I think that will be the pick if you aren't in the market for an ST but for the price of the ST, why not?

That's cheap as.
But why would anyone buy it?
OK, a 10 kw boost over other Fiestas, but only 2 doors, little "bling".
Not even as 21k. This car will be unloved for a long time I'm afraid.
