It's interesting, but not something I'd have on a 4 door. Wonder how long before the weight stress causes hinges to wear; anyone remember the door drop on the 70's coupes & utes?

The kits ive seen come with heavy duty gas struts, so not to sure how long they would last.

Probably real. I just don't see the appeal, I would be embarrassed getting into my car if any of my doors did that.

I replaced lots of toyota sera struts to allow for intrusion bars and sound systems.
these last a few years before they need a gas top up. there was also electric door kits available. I know of plenty or owners that unload passengers in the middle of the street in case they open the door on the curb.
