Default Facelifted Ranger revealed

Check out Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuwM...ature=youtu.be or the screen shot I've attached.

As expected, it's an Everest front glued onto the current Ranger and I quite like it. I'll be hoping for the new dashboard as I thought the current interior felt a bit cheap (even in Wildtrak form).

Well I'm going to go against the grain and say the Everest front looks better than both of them.

Looks great

I'll wait to see them side by side before I'll decide whether it beats the current one though.

F series still looks the best. It's not bad it's about the same as current on a scale just different I guess. For some reason it's fits the ute style better?

I don't mind the look. Sticking on the tough side is a good choice.

Want to make a bet?

They have to change the motor to comply with Euro 5.

Liking it more than the current one. Which is a massive compliment as the current one is a cracking looking car. Be interesting to see the new bt50 now

Yeah i'm not gunna put money on that lol. I suppose this is the same company who are renaming the Fusion to Mondeo for our market....

Is the North American Transit spec 3.2 Euro 5? I know it meets American & Canadian emissions, which include CA. Hopefully they'll do some work and keep it. Can't see why they won't. No 3.2 will kill sales!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Could be this. Stricter emissions for Murica 2015 Transit. Possible Euro5?
The 3.2 L Powerstroke is an inline five cylinder engine that debuted in the U.S.-spec Transit for model year 2015. The engine is a modified version of the Ford Duratorq 3.2 L diesel engine that has been adapted to meet emissions in the United States. To aid in economy, emissions, and reduce NVH, it has a high pressure common rail fuel injection system and Piezo injectors that can spray up to five different injections per compression event. It has a water cooled EGR system to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas before being recirculated through the intake. A unique feature to the emissions system is that the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) have been combined into one singular unit as opposed to the tradition two separate units. Exhaust treatment continues with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)which is done by the injection of Diesel Exhaust Fluid in the exhaust to reduce NOx. The engine features a variable geometry turbo which allows for intake air flow tuning on the fly to increase power and fuel economy. The engine also features a variable flow oil pump to avoid wasting mechanical energy pumping excessive amounts of oil when it is not needed. It has cast aluminum, low friction pistons with oil squirters to keep them cool during heavy load conditions, a die cast aluminum cam carrier to stiffen up the valve train and reduce NVH, and to increase low end durability, the crankshaft is cast iron and the connecting rods are forged. The block itself is an extra rigid, gray cast iron with a closed deck.[12] The power figures for the 3.2 L Powerstroke are 185hp @ 3000 rpm and 350 lb-ft @ 1500-2750 rpm. The Euro Duratorq 3.2 makes 200 HP and 350 ftlb of torque. Not much is lost for it having higher emission regulations.

They're not going to do anything drastic with powertrains with a facelift, the motors as far as I am aware will stay the same but obviously changes have to be made to implement full Euro 5 compliance (fueling tables, DPF) which will probably pick up the changes made for the North American Transit. Interestingly the NA Transit version of the 3.2 is down on power than the "standard" version. Oops.

From the Wiki page about it:

Quote:

Just for the record Ford, I would take a manual 5L Coyote Ranger over either a Falcon coupe or a Taurus

Agree-I read the same 2 stories in disbelief at how stupid wheels are, it was such a cheap shot at selling mags.

Im not sure the next Ranger for Australia will have any changes to the current 2 diesel engines, the car is 5 mins old for pete sake, Im sure it was designed with its eye on emissions for at least a decade.

Thought it was smart keeping the Everest and Ranger seperate looking. They could charge more for the Everest if people weren't constantly reminded it was based on the local council's weed spraying ute.

Side by side comparison for anyone who is interested.

I like it, but I think I'd still prefer the current one.
Unless it came with a V8

I don't like those new wheels though

Everest for comparison, not the same but similar.

Much prefer the Ranger update to the original.
