Default AU XR8 Values 2018 Part 2

Saw this today and it reminded me of the original post of the high priced silver AUXR8.

That’s what I said about XB GTs in 2003. Two years later I paid 100% more.

It's only stupid if you don't own one.

A car with a high asking price is not evidence of the high value of the car.

It is a claim by the seller that in his opinion his car is worth this much.

This has the double effect of people after a bargain looking elsewhere and at the same time attracting buyers who for whatever reason like these ugly AU Falcons.

Gee mate, why the negative post?

A troller?

What was in my post that was deliberately offensive or provocative?

This is a Ford Forum, right?

Why then do you cast aspersions, not only on an opinion expressed by a fellow member, but also on a specific model that Ford released?

Your post contributes nothing to the debate, it is a poorly constructed attempt to smear the writer and I find it immensely offensive.

Is it an xr6 or 8?

Says 8 in the title but the description says vct 6.

Might be my old eyes but it looks to me like the clearcoat has had it.
Ex police - expensive for what it is in my opinion.

Photo 5 gives it away - XR8. Still a bit pricey for what would be a basic XR8 auto with no options. Pricey in today’s market anyway, who knows what it’ll be worth in the future.

Tell him he's dreaming. I can get a mint G6E Turbo with similar k's to this for 20k. And I know which one will be more of a collectable.

Do some people see someone try to sell one for an expensive price so instantly think their's is worth the same?

I don't think he's too far of the money.
If that's the model you really wanted, trying to find one that is in top condition with low km's is getting very hard.
I cant say by looking at the crap photo's if it's actually good or not though !

I started the post as a follow up to the original one. If your not a fan of the AU, there are other posts that deal with opinions on the design. Let's stick to the topic please folks which is about current prices, not if you don't like them.

Yes lads play nice or I will put on my Mod hat. We all like what we like, cars, houses, footy teams. Back to the thread starter the price....
I own an AU XR8 but I wouldn't pay that much for one (mind you I thought mine was a bargain when I got it)
Look at TE/TS/TL 50's in the same range.
Car has to be over 30 years old for Historic rego so you would have to wait a bit before that's an option.

Plus a couple hundred dollars to get the bonnet re-sprayed, unless you like the matt Black finish.

Not sure, but for 20k it should be mint or at least matching the rest of the car. That’s my thoughts for that sort of money for a S3.

Plus there is no photo's of the LHS of the vehicle, no mention of any work done or if it has any rust. Whilst I hope he gets his price, I would buy this over the S3 even though it has had a few things done to it. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...-5397947/?Cr=3
The manual 220kw variant is becoming very hard to source, especially when condition/kms are a factor.

Yes I agree, it does look rather nice. I think now the S3 manual in the 220 is becoming a very sort after model in the AU range at the moment.

Cheers

While you’re on carsales try and find any other pre AU factory Ford V8 manual sedan for under about $15000. They rarely exist so I believe that V8 AU’s especially manuals will soon join that club and as we are seeing, some have already.

I wish there was a like button on the Carsales ads, i would have given that car a like.

Manual with very low kays, leather, premium sound and premium brakes, and looks like it needs nothing. For $15k it's priced very well even for a 200kw (which i reckon with the mods has more power than that now anyway).

Each to their own. But AU v8’s are slugs even in tickford form. Drive nice though.

Probably the best handling xr’s too.

Oh yeah it would t be as quick as a turbo. But I reckon it would probably drive better. My T2 was heaps of fun.
