Default Might be the Reason the V8 Rapor was Dropped

"Bronco Chief Engineer Eric Loeffler said that emissions concerns killed any serious internal interest in the idea."

I’ll say this, the Bronco Raptor engine will be polarising, people are going to either love it or hate it with a passion.

Telling Bronco Raptor fans they can’t have a V8 and this Fokker over here is much better is similar to the Ranger
2.0 diesel situation we saw a few years back, the product still sold much better than critics ever imagined.
I suspect the same will be true for Bronco Raptor fans, sometimes HP comes packaged differently.

I have a feeling that Ford just opened the door for post production conversions as hard core
buyers will always pay more to get what they want……….and that’s OK.

Always a bummer when a v8 isn't an option

Considering our emissions regs are weaker, and we don't have the CAFE regs here, emissions was irrelevant to the decision.

It was more likely timing that was the problem, with the current model just about to be replaced. Timing wise it made no sense, cause by the time the R&D was done it would barely even make it to sale before it was replaced.

And they knew what was coming anyway. People who want a powerful raptor will be able to get one anyway.
