Interior light has what looks like 2 prongs inside of what looks like holes i'm guessing you need to push the prongs back inside is there a trick to getting them out? |

are you trying to remove the bulb? if so, just carefully pull it out of the bits that hold it.
otherwise im not sure what youre trying to ask?

Remove the light holder so I can pull down the roof lining...
Sorry I guess I didn't make complete sense... Light holder has what seems like prongs in each corner with little bits of metal if you look in that look to be holding on somehow... How the ell do I get them out? |

the entire unit itself should come off, the clips shouldnt be connected to the roof itself at all.

Wtf?
Just pull it down? The clips definitely go into the roof just I guess not knowing if they're clipped in or what don't want to break stuff! This is the interior light assembly at the back in the ute... What about the front assembly / sunglasses holder? seems held on not quite as well as the other but also has 2 bits in the middle that look kinda stuck in there too |

Just a bit of info on the interior light itself. This interior light is used from EA to BF models, the only difference is the metal clips that are used on the later models(AU-BF).Went to ford to get one for my EB and got one with the clips (EB's have four screws hold them in). Was told that the light is used for replacement of all models. This is for the light only, not the one with the map lights from earlier models(fairmont,XR's ect).

Ok so some info on the interior of the AU (possibly sedan?) and the interior light
Interior light just needs some leverage but pops straight out Sunglasses holder / map lights is not held onto the roof at all although it is attached to the roof lining! Short of cutting the wires there's no way to get this out other than to unplug the lights from the clips and feed the lights / clip back out through the insulation on the roof lining! ( of a job and you'll need to reattach the insulation somehow later on) |

Well after reading this I decided to give it a go with my headlining, I have the lining out now. I was also stuck with that interior light and could not work out how to remove, a bit of wedging back and forth got it in the end.
Rubbed and lightly washed the lining and the backboard. What glue are people using to glue it back, local shop suggested spray on contact, which sounds reasonable what's your thoughts? By the way thanks for those that gave the input |
